I am a technical person, but for this project I do not want to set everything up. I would like to just use forms and focus on the content. I am thinking a good solution would be something that is for non-technical people.

I want to migrate my website to a different provider. My current web hosting vendor has services and prices that are not a good match for one of my projects.

I want these features in a web host vendor, ideally, in random order:

  1. Nightly backups.
  2. A domain name with no other words in it (e.g., it should not say "wordpress" in the URL).
  3. Affordable.
  4. High performance for U.S. web visitors. But traffic will be very light. It does not need to handle more than 10 people at one time. It will get 40 to 50 hits per day max. Maybe performance is not an issue given how little traffic I will need to support.
  5. Available templates that are geared toward programming. I want color coding based on the language I select (e.g., Java, SQL or bash). I want the code to be easily copied into the clipboard when someone views my web page.
  6. I want blog postings arranged by the topics I create and by month.
  7. I want to post blogs in the past (e.g., in 2015) to transfer from a previous blog.
  8. Easy to use (e.g., I prefer forms and a short learning curve).
  9. Search engine optimization features (to put in meta data or synonyms to increase hits and a way to update the headers as they will appear in search engine results).
  10. Good customer support (good hours of availability and polite technicians).

None of the items above are mandatory. Which web hosting company would be right for me?

Hi Reyansh

From the sound of your requirements and what you want to achieve, I would recommend a shared hosting plan.

The requirements you have for nightly backups and a domain name should be provided by any good host, however relating to templates and blog postings etc are not something hosting providers will help you with except a point in the right direction. You can find many good hosts on FWH I would suggest to contact some providers and ask any specifics you have about your requirements.

To fulfill all of your requirements, you need a quality shared hosting provider, and a web developer.

A web host is not going to make sure your site is laid out the way you want.

I would suggest looking for WordPress plugins to fulfil your needs, or possible look for a freelance developer that can get your site put together quickly and cost effectively.

To keep it simple, a solid web host, along with Wordpress as your content management system should suffice.

It depends on your budget. If you are planning to pay $2-$3/mo extra then you can go with managed Wordpress provider.
Based on your requirements, you just need a shared hosting plan with daily backup.

Shared hosting would suit you best for this low cost to run and keep up.
the traffic is minimal so you wont have any issues on bandwidth.

There are different types of webhosting plan but ones needs to check the website requirements and signup for the hosting plan. At the initial stages a shared hosting plan will suffice, but with increase in the website traffic visitors, the user has to look for a web hosting plan upgrade.
