Whoisguard is just a service that a registrar or host offers for the domains registered with them that will keep all of your contact information private and out of the public eye. This can help greatly reduce spam caused by people or bots that scrape whois contact data for the purpose of spam.what is whoisguard
If you want your personal contact information kept private, then yes.should I pay for it?
If you don't want to get spammed by people scraping this data from your whois record. It is best to use this type of service.
I would recommend buying this. Namecheap gives you a year free. You don't want your home address available for everyone to see.
Thanks you guys for helps, from this advice, I decided to renew Whoisguard for next yearIf you want your personal contact information kept private, then yes.
You are very welcome David, we are always happy to help. Thanks you guys for helps, from this advice, I decided to renew Whoisguard for next year
I don't know if any of the codes below are still working but they are for discounted privacy at Godaddy. I haven't tried them in a couple of months but they might still work. You can give them a try if you want.I don't know why pricing for renewal of Whoisguard at Namecheap is cheaper than Godaddy. If they have same pricing, I wanted to renew this service for my domains at Godaddy too.
Exactly, I renewed whoisguard at Namecheap with $2 only / 1 year and it is pretty cheap for this feature if compared with other domain registrars. As others have said , whoisguard protects your identity by masking your real info on the WHOIS with a redirect.
Namecheap offers free 1yr of whoisguard to most domain registrations, but it's pretty cheap too if you want to renew it.
Google Domains?Google Domains offer free private WHOIS as a standard feature. They are priced competitively to GoDaddy (assuming you don't have a Godaddy coupon code).
Whoisguard is a service that protects your personal information from public view. Some domain selling companies (such as godaddy) charge for this service, while others (such as shoutmydomain) may offer a year free. Not disclosing your personal information could be useful if you are running a kind of blogging business on a controversial topic, or a business that some might consider "shady" (porn, poker, etc to name a few). Sometimes not disclosing your personal information could protect you from spammers as these people can see your contact information (name, address, telephone number, etc) and send you continual spam offers.I usually purchase domain names regularly in months and sometimes I see this option in my domain control panel of the domain registrar. I am wondering what is whoisguard and should I pay for it?
