You seem need to try apache with varnish cache. Varnish provides exceptional power for apache. performance rose dramatically from my experiment. But i don't know if vps/dedicated under 2GB ram.

How to measure the performance between LiteSpeed and Apache to know which one is better. If it is better than Apache, I would give it a go.

Before trying a paid solution like litespeed, you should try an open-source one like Nginx.
Apache is still the most used web server, but Nginx use less resources and is able to handle thousands of requests with a low resources footprint.
With some solutions like easyengine or centminmod, deploying nginx is now pretty easy and some control panel like Plesk, VestaCP or CentosWebPanel offer the ability to use Apache + Nginx as reverse proxy or Nginx only.

Good morning,

I'm using Apache on my production servers. On my testing servers, I have NGINX as a reverse proxy for Apache.

Apache with nginx as proxy are good enough to handle high traffic, I've tried but I did not continue.

I like Apache and Varnish + mod_lsapi (LiteSpeed from CloudLinux).

For a VPS with Plesk, I'm using Apache + Nginx as reverse proxy.
Without a control panel, I'm using only Nginx as it require less resources than Apache, and can handle very high traffic

LiteSpeed is the best option performance wise and its free for personal use, budget wise I would say nginx.

NGINX is my preferred web server when it comes to hosting without any control panel

But for shared hosting especially with cpanel Apache is preferred

Lite speed servers are compatible for Linux platforms and are high performing web servers which are faster than Apache.
Apache compatible URL rewrite engine.
MS Front Page Server Extension.
Automatic PHP Setup.
Well secured and user-friendly.

I prefer nginx. Therefore I use "nginx-only" feature on my Plesk server.

Yes Nginx works really good with CPanel CentOS servers. We do have many ecommerce customers mostly magento and nginx really improves client website performance than normal apache server.

Is it default web server on PlesK?
Can I change to others?

I like apache, but if you need to host more sites on the server, I would recommend you to go with LiteSpeed. And if want to host large site, use nginx.
