If you don't already know - i'd suggest building your own web 2.0s from sites like wordpress.com , blog.com etc

Of course you can also do guest posts which is more relevant to your site. Do note alot of blogs want $ for guest posts but you can still find free ones. Some sites which allow one to create 'free blog' are a good place to start too.

Well, the most quality backlinks are from Sponsored Content/Guest Posting. There are certainly other methods but the efforts vs result compared with Guest posting is not worth it.
