There's so many developers and designers doing beautiful things for Wordpress that i'm sure you can't go wrong.
If you need something not so tech i will recommend you SpaceCraft or Mobirise.

As others have mentioned, self-hosted is the way to go. It may work out more expensive initially but you are not restricted in future should you wish to add custom functionality and other features to your site which are simply not possible through the likes of Wix.
