What is wix.com?

Hello guys! does anybody here know or ever tried to use wix.com website? Because according to its commercials you can create here your own website for free. Is it true, safe or it is built for free but having tons of ads?

Wix is a cloud-based web development platform that was first developed and popularized by an Israeli company. It allows users to create HTML5 web sites and mobile sites through the use of online drag and drop tools. They offer free services, but of course with limitations. They have also premium services for additional features.

What you read is correct. It's free and the website editors are designed for beginners. I used them when I was a beginner and the site editors are drag and drop so It's easy.

The drawback is you can't customize it fully because you don't have full control over your website. I don't know if they changed it now but that's what I experienced back in 2011.
