Explain web hosting to a newbie

Hello!

I am a newbie in this field and do not know about this subject as many of you do.

I am interested in finding out what makes web hosting great.I want to learn from you, from those who use it and for those who are providing web hosting, to describe to me, what web hosting really is ?

I know it is a system that allows its users to set up their websites, but I have a very shallow knowledge of it.

I know that many of you in here are experts and I would like to ask you to explain it to me as there are many people like me on this forum that can use your help.

Web Hosting is quite simply the term for the service, that you would use, to store your website in a place, that anyone could access from around the world.

Web Hosting is used by just about everyone, from Online Shops, to blogs and personal sites. A Web Hosting Provider is simply a company that has invested into infrastructure such as servers and software licenses, to provide a Hosting service, usally at a set price.

You don't necessarily need network infrastructure to be a hosting provider as you could resell another provider's services. A simple reseller plan makes it possible for very low cost entry into providing hosting. Each of your clients can be assigned their own cPanel account and have some separation from other clients on the same server.

Web Hosting is the service providing space on the Internet for websites. When you make a website and want other people to see it, you will need to publish (or upload) it with a web hosting service. In a more easier term it's like a space in a mall that you rent so that your product will be seen and be displayed. Having your product seen in a mall creates a wider range of audience. In web hosting your audience is the subscribers and site visitors. Your mall is your website where people (subscribers and visitors) come and check your products and services.

I love the replies on this topic. I am also a newbie in web hosting and i'm still searching in order to know more about web hosting. I don't exactly know what is web hosting and what does it talk about until I join in this forums.
