As the title said
What is a domain alias? How do you set?
How does it work? When do I need to have a domain alias?

I want to create one through my site panel, but doesn't know where to start. I am using cPanel

Thank you.

Hello Cheerag, a domain alias is a domain you will use as an alternative to your main domain.
For example, yourdomain.fr can be used as a domain alias for yourdomain.com

In cPanel :

Hi Cheerag,

A domain alias allows you to show the same website content for multiple domains. The address bar will continue to show the URL of the alternate domain.

For example:

you enter example.net or example.org in your browser it displays the site on example.com.

Login to cPanel > Aliases > Enter the domain name

note: You must update the name servers for the alias domains to the name servers that are serving the domain being aliased.

Hope this helps

One can have two or more domain names that will lead to a single site. A domain alias is having a website hosted and point other domain names to the website. It is also known as domain name pointer to the root domain or sometimes referred as domain staffing.

Domain alias is pointing 2 domain name to single website .
For example, abc.com and efg.com , will point to the same website location that you upload

A domain alias is a domain name that can be used as an alternate name for another domain. For example, if your domain name is example.com, you can register another domain name, for instance example.net and have it point to the location of example.com. This means, every Internet user who goes to example.net will land in example.com.

To create an alias in cPanel see https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/60Docs/Aliases
