Hosting on Windows or Linux?

It really depends on what you need. Necessity is more important. I would say both Linux and Windows have pros and cons but in the end, you will still have to decide which one best suits your needs.

I`ve tried both Windows and Linux hosting and I would recommend you to use windows as the host operating system
It depends on what you plan to do.

For example, if you’re going to host an ASP . NET web site, you’ll need Windows hosting. If you’re going to host a WordPress web site, then Linux is preferred (although it will also work on some Windows hosting plans with PHP enabled, if properly configured). If you’re hosting a simple site using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, without any server-side processing, it really doesn’t matter which one you choose.

Definitely using an operating system depend on which type of programming language that your website is using but I think Linux is always better because it is more secure than Windows.
