How to improve the transfer speed of VPS?

I have a small VPS 1GB of RAM and 2 CPU cores. I used to connect my VPS hosting using WinSCP tool but I found the speed was very slow, just several KB/s sometimes.

How to improve the transfer speed for my VPS? thank you.

You should raise a ticket to you hosting provider for them to investigate this further.

There is either:
A) A problem with your VPS configuration
B) A problem with the node
C) A problem with the providers network
D) The node is groosly oversold.
