Is SmallOrange still reliable ?

I have heard good reviews about SmallOrange before. Their pricing was also decent. I was almost on the verge of getting a VPS from them, I came know to know about EIG's acquisition of SmallOrange. Remembering the previous discussions by my friends on EIG, I am a bit vary on going ahead with SmallOrange. Does anyone here have experience lately with SmallOrange ?

Although I do not have personal experience with ASO, we have heard quite a few horror stories and helped new customers move their sites away from ASO after they experienced downtime and poor response from support.

My suggestion, stay away from ASO and any other EIG host!

I always wondered why service go downhill when EIG takes over. They are a big company and have a lot of resources. They take over companies with good reputation. So, shouldn't be it the other way ? That is, service getting better after EIG takeover ?

Ah ! Isn't that serving them bad. No one V in web hosting forums these days support / recommend EIG. They are ruining their own business that way.
