If I am not wrong...seem you are a graphic designer?
What are the first steps to succeed in this field, good design skills, more graphic marketplaces or a good website with a good portfolio?

Thanks for the question Steve32! In my opinion... First, I'll accept your description continuity. :) I mean Good design skills>marketplaces>good website. Second, Good Website>Good Design Skills>Marketplaces [on SEO purpose].

Forget about it fiverr and others similar to it. I see no success with fiverr. If you want to earn with graphic designing, try to build website themes and designs and sell them, you will need:
1- A website
2- A domain
3- A SEO consultant (or learn it by yourself)
Then start selling your own stuff! Hope it helps. Good luck! :)

First thing is you need talent for design and a desire to do it. :)

That depends on where you live. Most outsourcing and groupsourcing etc. sites pay well for third-world type of countries, but not so well for first-word type of economies.

It's absolutely worthwhile. More companies than ever are looking to outsource graphic design work. It's an artistic niche that a lot of straight-laced business prudes don't really delve into. But they'll happily pay you for it.

Look at some different certifications if you want to corral more clientele. I recommend Rapid Business Freelancer certification because it's free lol. But there are MANY out there being recognized by Canadian employers.

I am not in the graphic design field but I have bought graphic design services and done a lot of my own graphic designing. The amount of money that you can make is going to depend largely on you and your capabilities and efficiency.

If you can produce your graphic designs quickly while still providing quality work then you can earn good money.

You always want to produce quality graphic designs because that can help get more graphic design jobs from repeat buyers and word of mouth.

If you can create quality graphic designs quickly then the amount of money that you can make is only limited by how many graphic designs you can do in a day and what kind of marketing you do to promote your services.

Personally I think that with any business you need to prove what you can do. I always find that locally is a good way to start and get involved in local groups. If you can do a few good designs you can use them on your website as samples and hopefully get some good testimonials to put on your site so people online can trust you.

If you have some talent to offer the market is never oversaturated, there is always some potential customer willing to pay for quality work.

I've worked in a more similar field ( Web Programming ) and I personally feel you mainly need initially a good portfolio to start getting clients.
Now initially you can't just start a website an SEO consultant and start expecting orders. I'll be frank this field is quite saturated already and the only way you can make a good living is by being better than others.

To do this you can start off with building a good portfolio on UpWork.com, Freelancer.com, and 99Designs.com. Be a bit competitive and start trying your luck in contests. Now in the meantime get your website up and start your SEO locally.

Remember to give it some time once you get your first client you will start picking up the pace.

Also consider doing a bit of pro bono work to beef up your portfolio. If I remember correctly, a while back FWH was looking for individuals to design a new logo. :dancing2:

I rather prefer opening a Graphic Design business than choosing online job since online work such as fiverr takes patience since you have a lot of competitors out there. You just need to be ingenious in making such graphic design so people who are availing the services offered online will definitely notice you. It requires patience indeed. That's why I prefer opening a business. Even though you have competitors out there, you can just stand on your own and develop your strategy in business decisions.
