With WordPress it's a bit tricky I have found. What you want to do is getting a SEO Plugin that can help with getting you site on google

Agree with Vannie, wordpress has various plugins for SEO and easy to get high ranking with it. I am interesting in plugins, widgets or customized designs for wordpress, they are flexible!
