I've tried Joomla before and didn't like it as much as I like WordPress. Joomla just isn't as intuitive as WordPress is and it doesn't have as many good themes ad plugins.

I think that WordPress is better than Joomla and I always recommend using it and especially to people that are new to websites.

I think that Wordpress is easier to learn than Joomla is so that can be important for some people. I also recommend WordPress out of these 2 website CMS's because there is so much good information around the web about it that you can usually find the answers to any questions or needs that you have quickly.

There are also a lot more Wordpress themes, plugins and developers out there that are available. Plus you can convert Wordpress into many different things like a forum, ecommerce website or just about any other type of website you might want.

Wordpress is the way to go for most people.

WordPress is so easy to setup and it has many plugins, addons and great designs, also its easy to optimize.
The Joomla has a different functions and its more complicated.
From my side i recommend WordPress.

Exactly I used Wordpress because it is easier to use and configuring.
I also used Joomla and it is pretty weight to load if compared with Wordpress.
Joomla was the past!

I personally prefer Wordpress as it has a lot of SEO benefits and it is very user friendly as compared to Joomla. I believe Joomla is more geared towards techies and it takes a lot of your time.

Both are great platforms, I guess its down to personal choice and the specific project in question. I have tried Joomla quite a few times for different projects and have always found it to be really good once you get to grasps with it.

I started using Mambo in 2003. It was the initial Joomla team.
Then the team had some disagreements about what to do with the Mambo platform and they separated.
Some members of the initial tem created JOOMLA and the other continued developing Mambo. For few years i have used Joomla as a CMS for a national newspaper but i stop using it in this last 10 years. I think WP is getting much more attention from developers, designers and it's more easy for end users do administrate and is very stable. I would choose WP for sure.

In my own opinion, Wordpress is pretty easy to use for a beginner and it's got a lot of decent plugins and themes. It's pretty much able to handle any type of website you want to build.

WordPress is easy to use and has to many themes to install for free. It has simple configuration too. It's easy to update the WordPress too.
Joomla is quite complicated than WordPress. But it's complicated to update the WordPress scripting if you would like to update the design then it's not easy. In Joomla, it's easy to update the layout designs using the control panel.

WordPress is good for small sites and blogs. Joomla is good for sites like eCommerce.

Wordpress is a no brainer compared to Joomla. Joomla's advantages cannot be compared to the ones offered by Wordpress. With Wordpress, you will easily understand how it works, even if you are a beginner. It's also more SEO optimized. I've tried Joomla and I have not liked it at all, and it doesn't offer the same amount of diversity that WP offers you.

WordPress is the best with an easy to use platform. It has so many apps that will make your website beautiful and makes blogging easy. It's the most popular platform in the world, used by so many people. If you are just starting out, I recommend WordPress.

I prefer wordpress because it has more features than joomla. It has more themes, plugins and it's more convenient and easy to use especially if you're blogging. You can operate with less effort and customize it easily.

Yes, I agree with you that Wordpress is recommended for a newbie like me. I'm in the process of learning Wordpress right now though I am still coping but I found it friendly to use. Maybe I will try Joomla later just to see the differences between the two but for now I will stick on Wordpress until such time I already digest everything on it.

Wordpress than Joomla. Reasons are because WordPress is much easier to use and keeping track of your posts.

Wordpress has been a legend I believe and myriads of bloggers and other businessmen have used this platform for delivering articles with which they have ensured quality. However, there is no harm in trying something new such as Joomla.
It's also good to consider Joomla because there may be new users who can follow you there and patronize what you post. There are a lot of possibilities in something not that famous. :)

I prefer WordPress over Joomla. It's more flexible plus the developers give a lot of updates so you know that they are doing research and improvements for their users. There are also a lot of features that you can unlock in WordPress like different themes and plugins. There are tons in them!
