Should I learn SEO from SEO courses?

Hey Guys,

I found some SEO courses on forums and I am going to try one.
Anyone learned SEO from SEO courses? should I learn SEO from them?

I dont see why not... The way I learned was to read books on the subject and in particular spending a massive amount of time developing and implementing a SEO audit which was huge.. We're talking 100+ pages jammed packed covering many on-page/off-page factors... Above all the most important thing is to implement, test and learn... The fact is that today you'll find a ton of info which is outdated and does not work so its important to keep on top of what works and does not...

To learn SEO you need not have to join any paid course. You have internet and Google, you can learn everything freely. But to be expert in SEO you have to your own research by implementing different stuff on your website.

Google is changing algorithm frequently and it is even now more critical to understand how Google rank a webpage.

Google is your best teacher ever, SEO Course is best for industry noob. You have some knowledge on SEO, because of you posted here. So you don't need to take any course. Just try to understand deeply about the algorithm, then make strategy, find out where is your lacking, solves it, be a SEO expert.

There are not many decent books out there on SEO, but one that I like is SEO Secrets by Danny Dover. It is a few years old now, but will give you a good basic groundwork for learning about SEO. It is especially good for onpage SEO stuff.

So do not want to say, don't take the course. He can take courses, if he thought, he is newbie in this industry.Or if he knows something about SEO, i will suggest for working by practically. I think,he can learn many things about it himself. That will be great.

seems like every time i have tried to learn SEO once i start to understand it all and what im doing, things have changed and im confused again. i gave up a long time ago and just hire someone else when i need it done.

A lot of opinion here..., but whatever you decided to follow the SEO tutorial is seriously..! Google unlink in 2000, and from 2013 to 2014 there were a lot of change...

If you want to improve SEO and learn more about it. You have to keep update from Search Engine. I found a lot of SEO tips, training course on search engine likes Google. I went through some of those technique and I found that it's not working for new generation of SEO marketing..

So, recommendation.. If you want to take a course, you have to make sure that it's an updated version of training courses. Moreover, please the trainer information and his/her website does it was rank well on search engine..

You can learn all the SEO techniques from Google and from other friends on social media sites without paying a single penny.

There are some perks learning SEO from SEO Courses. However, you need to keep on updating yourself with new SEO techniques as Google is frequently changing its algorithm. The things which you will learn in that paid SEO course will be outdated in only few months. Do self study instead, that's what I'll recommend you.

I think you can find rich resources on Youtube. There will be professionals teaching SEO techniques and stay tuned for the latest knowledge.

Again, just horrible advice. Most of the "free" material out there is wrong or grossly conflicts with other material you will find. There is nothing wrong with investing in your future, if you are serious about it.

This is not really true. The core of SEO in Google really has not changed in 15 years. It is about links and good onpage SEO. What has changed is Google's ability to enforce what they consider to be best practices. For example, before Penguin, links could not harm a site. In fact what are considered really bad links today could actually boost a site's ranking. What Google was saying and asking for never changed though. What did change was their ability to identify what they considered to be spammy links on a large scale and enforce penalties on those sites using them.

Just one example, but if you learn SEO from someone that actually knows how to rank pages, you will not have to constantly change what you are doing.

Yes they can be a good source but don't get too wrapped up in them you could find yourself in a mess. There is alot of information out there and info overload is easy.
Best thing to do in my mind would be to keep hangin out on forums as there is some great advice in places like this. Get yourself a couple of good seo books. Real ones not ecourse from 'marketers'. Then try to rank your site in google by following their advice here.

Most people miss the fundamentals of SEO. The key to ranking in search engines is finding out what people are searching for and aligning your website to canter to those individuals. Keyword research in my opinion is one of the most important factors when it comes to SEO.

I have to disagree with you on one note. Neil Patel is by far one of the best mentors to have when it comes to internet marketing. If you follow his work then you can at least grasp the fundamentals and apply it to your own websites. Don't try to copy his exact strategies, that's not possible. Try to use the bits of information that you think might help you the most.

Courses on Udemy is great. In my opinion why pay for information you can get for free online. Most of the time the content you get in those paid courses are exactly the same as the information you get from guys who's been around in the internet marketing business for a quite a while now.

The key to driving traffic to your website should not be SEO. That should be icing on the cake. Look for alternative ways to get traffic to your website for example I use Revenue Sharing to get a ton of traffic to my sites and the best part is I get paid to use their services. So please don't focus all your energy into SEO because you will never make it this way.
