Very Good question paivadaniel! Because I'm also in this movement, Now.

You should take some steps to changing your web hosting..

1. Take a good web host. like pair.com.
2. Make a back-up your web site along with all the content and data at the new web host.
3. Change the primary domain name's DNS to point to the new web host.
4. Wait and Watch the new DNS change to continue by search engine crawler bots.
5. Finally when you will ensure that the search engine crawlers are indexing the web site in new web host then you can close the old.

Best luck for you and your steps.

In most cases it will not cause any issues with regards to SEO noting speed and performance are factors to consider with regards to your bounce rates.... In addition in some circumstances you may find that the new web server you are on has been blacklisted should it be on shared hosting due to activities of one or more websites on that server... This can also apply to email due to self hosting.. There are tools online whereby you can see the domains listed for a given web server, so it maybe worthwhile to check that as well as for IP blacklisting checks... One way would be to take that list and check that against G's search with checking that all sites are listed in the search index...

If you are moving a wordpress site then I recommend that you use the duplicator plugin as that way you can migrate the database, files/folders with a single file, upload it on the other end and install with a few settings/clicks.. Literally the whole thing can be done within under a minute... For other platforms you need to consider database exports as well as files/folders with a manual copy via FTP etc...

Location of the server can play a role in Google rankings too. If you are moving from a server in the U.S. to a server in the U.K. and you rely on U.S. traffic, you might see a decrease in rankings both because of the server location and because of the additional load time U.S. traffic is going to see.

The main thing that a host is going to impact as far as rankings though is server speed. Moving to a slower server could cause a decrease in rankings. Moving to a faster server could cause an increase in rankings. In either situation, the change might not be enough to impact rankings at all.
