Happy almost New Year everyone!

I want to start a fitness blog that mostly documents my journey to getting back into shape. The target market are those who were in shape before, but lost their way and are now struggling to get back in shape. I also want to share any tips and strategies along the way.

The problem is, I ALSO want to start a blog on blogging and making money online. I don't want to manage two blogs, as experience has taught me that I'll lose focus on one of them. But I love both niches though.

So I have an idea to combine the two, but still keep the topic on fitness -- i.e. how I lost x pounds, how to create a fitness blog, how to sell fitness ebooks, why paleo diet works and doesn't work, how to make money with your fitness blog, etc.

Would this type of blog confuse you, if you were to visit it, or should I keep them separate? Would love to hear your guy's thoughts on this.

Thanks!

It's right if you don't have time and money to develop both blogs, but you still can manage more blogs without losing focus on other blogs if you manage your time effectively. For examples, you can finish first blog and do for next blog, if you don't have time, hire some writers, web developers or managers to manage/co-operate with you on other blogs.

I like this idea. I would like to keep 2 blogs run along together, it will help you promote or drive traffic between blog make money and fitness blog as well.

I would love to keep theme separate, because it will give your visitors easier ways to navigate which they want on each blog and of course an important thing that our internet marketing forum discussing, that's SEO. you WILL get higher ranking if you run and SEO for each blog instead of combine them.

I am managing websites and blogs without any problems. It depends on how we manage and develop it. :eek:k:

Just 0.2 cents :)

If this is your first time blogging and these are your first 2 blogs, I would not advise going into the making money niche.

It's waaaaaaayyyyyy saturated.

Nearly 50% of newbies build sites around making money yet have no idea how to do it because that's the reason they are making the site anyway. Newbies have an appetite for disaster and newbs with money usually bite way more then they can chew.

So if you have minimal experience in the SEO and SEM fields, I would suggest one niche to focus on and learn how to get it ranked. After you do it successfully to one niche then repeat the process.

TO build a wall you have to lay one perfect brick first. Then lay the next brick perfect, and the next, and the next, and one day you will have a castle.

YOu cant pile a bunch of brick together and build a castle.
