Hi everyone,

I'm hiring a writer and he is writing articles for my blog but he asked me how many internal links do I need on each page of the article, I didn't know what the best amount of links for an article 500 words?

Can you give me a suggestion?

Should not more than 75-100 Anything beyond that is too much.

Hassan you may have been taken for 100 kilobytes of a page. Yes you are right, Actually it depends on your page quality or user experience otherwise we should consider to keep under them [75-100]. You know, there have many websites with a ton of links in it even they still serve a nice user experience like popurls. See excellent chart there are 98 websites, average 369 links on each single page here.

msWendy! You may check this link for better understanding. Best wishes to all.

Although you're asking about number of internal links on an article 500 words but it related to keyword density, I would keep 2% to 3% on your page content. So you will calculate which important keywords you want to point to (make internal links).

Hope it helps!

Writer will not have to put any links...

If he wants then he can put the source link at the last.
If you are going to publish a blog post with ton of links in it. Google used to index only about 100 kilobytes of a page. When we thought about how many links a page might reasonably have and still be under 100K, it seemed about right to recommend 100 links or so. If a page started to have more than that many links, there was a chance that the page would be so long that Google would truncate the page and wouldn't index the entire page.

There is a clear difference between outbound and internal links... For the article it should only be natural and appropriate to helping the reader... For a 500 word article then I reckon 2-3 links is sufficient but of course more should it help the reader and provide value... In addition I also recommend that should you have related content within your site that you use a silo approach to connect categories, tags etc which not only helps the reader find more info but also G with understanding your site better.... On the whole do not create outbound links for the purpose of creating a link... It needs to be relevant... There is an exception but that relates to tiered link building at the lowest tiers e.g. 2-3 and below - but thats to ensure you keep under the radar.... Also keep in mind that dofollow links which are outbound reduces the total amount of link juice flowing out as it is distributed proportionally... So the more links (excluding nofollow) going out on a page which has authority the less value that link will have in terms of linkjuice and influence on the SERPs to the recipient site.

If you want to add keywords in a single article then you can put maximum 2 links. 2 Links are best for a article that have 500 words. :artist:

You can use up to two links of your internal page. it is helpful for visitor for going one page to another. that is why we put the link on the pages of the website.

The only thing that can limit you tis to over doing it because once you over do it then it will hurt you so like others have said, to be on safe side, I think you should put from two to five links each article.
