This is something you will have to come up with yourself, however there are a couple things to think of when you are brainstorming ideas.

:) Make a list of things that best describes your personality (verbs)

:) Make a separate list of words that come to mind about web design (try not to make it anymore than two words at a time)

:) Try to put the two lists together combining the verbs with the descriptive parts to see if you can come up with a match.

:) Write down the possibilities that you've come up with.

:) Sleep on it, then go over it again in a couple of days and continue to narrow it down.

I would give it about a week, so you know for sure the name you pick is what you want. Good luck to you, and I do hope you let us know on your progress and how you make out!!

That is a good question...
That depends on you, I suppose...
Hipcat and I have registered a business name, but the website domain doesn't match completely, as it has the same first word, but the rest is different.

If one compliments the other, I would think it would be ok, but that's only if you're ok with it.

Exactly but it will be better if we use domain name matchs the company name, see around some giant companies like Google (google.com), Apple (apple.com), Microsoft (microsoft.com)..and more..they are using domain name with their company name are the same :D

A simple example:
Someone can remember your company name as "A" but on browsers, they must type "B" for your domain name, so it's advantage or not for using different names between company name and domain name?
The answer is yours

So, hypothetically speaking...
What if you were really set on a business name, however the online domain is taken? This happens a lot, especially with 1-2 word domain names. What sort of advice would you give them?

"Like No Others" still is my first choice in cases domain names that I want to buy, they are existed. Make it unique at least 1 word in your domain name :)
Real application:
I chose WebmasterSun.com because Sun looks like this icon3.png (ideas) and having webmasterworld.com why don't have a webmastersun.com, the world needs to have the sun, webmasters need to have ideas for their works :D...etc
I chose ojothemes.com (this site's still not completed yet) for a review website themes because I think OjO looks like eyes and nose of a person,.. can view and review themes...:DD:
I used this method to choose some domain names for my websites.
Hopefully it's not hypothetic :eek:k:

If you think you may expand on your business, you may wish to have one main name for your business name, then have your different domain names for your branches/niches.

To start, I'd get a name that matches your domain name. It will make it easier for word of mouth marketing and just make life easier for your clients.

If you think you may expand on your business, you may wish to have one main name for your business name, then have your different domain names for your branches/niches.
If the OP is starting with just a single brand (web design business) probably best to maximize it's chance of success and save headaches with a name that matches the domain name. Things can of course change later down the line should a second brand be introduced (and a new domain for it).

Either way, good luck to you! :).
