CloudLinux is a Linux-based OS designed to give shared hosting providers a more stable and secure OS. It comes with a set of kernel modifications to the Linux distribution. It implements features to enable system administrators to take better control of their server's resource usage and hence a better performance as a result. It is possible to convert an already installed WHM server to a CloudLinux server without a reinstallation.
  1. Make sure that you have a license from ClloudLinux.
  2. Login to the server as root.
  3. Download the installation script:
    # wget repo.cloudlinux.com/cloudlinux/sources/cln/cldeploy
  4. If you have an activation key with you, run the following command by replacing the key:
    #sh cldeploy -k <activation_key>
  5. If you don't have a key, but an IP-based license:
    # sh cldeploy -i
  6. It will take some time for running the script, please wait till it gets finished.
  7. Once it is done, reboot the server:

Your tutorial is very detailed with commands, I would add extra information in a general outline of the process to Convert a cPanel/WHM server to Cloudlinux:
  1. Verify server requirements: Ensure that your server meets the minimum requirements for Cloudlinux installation, such as RAM, CPU, and disk space.
  2. Purchase Cloudlinux license: You will need to purchase a Cloudlinux license from their website before you can install it.
  3. Backup your server: Before making any changes to your server, it's important to make a backup of your entire cPanel/WHM server in case something goes wrong during the conversion process.
  4. Disable third-party repositories: If you have any third-party repositories installed on your server, you will need to disable them. This is because Cloudlinux is incompatible with some third-party repositories.
  5. Install the Cloudlinux conversion script: Download the Cloudlinux conversion script from their website and run it on your server. This script will automatically convert your server to Cloudlinux.
  6. Verify installation: After the conversion process is complete, verify the installation by checking the server's operating system information and running the cloudlinux-selector command.
  7. Update WHM/cPanel: Update your WHM and cPanel installations to the latest version.
  8. Enable CageFS: Enable CageFS to take advantage of Cloudlinux's enhanced security features.
Note: This is a general outline of the process and specific steps may vary based on your server's configuration and the version of Cloudlinux you are installing. It's recommended to follow the official Cloudlinux documentation for the most up-to-date and accurate instructions.

It's also important to keep in mind that converting your server to Cloudlinux can be a complex process and may affect your existing configurations and applications. It's recommended to seek help from a qualified system administrator if you are not familiar with server administration.
