Moving from Strato to wordpress

Hi, I have a website that is very old on the Strato-hosting site. This is a Church website that was not set up by me, although I do have the login details.
Because it is so old and very limited with what we can do I want to create a brand new website on a more up to date hosting website but keep the same domain.
My domain is also registered at Strato
I am a complete amateur with this stuff
So I just wanted advice on how make that change. I don't mind keeping the domain at Strato if that helps?

You can install wordpress on a subdomain of your domain then change it to your domain when you're done building it. Create a subdomain in cPanel, then with softaculous install wordpress on that subdomain (considering you have both cPanel and softaculous on the server).

There are hosting companies that offer, fully managed support. They will install a new Wordpress and will set up to access it on IP address temporarily, while you build the website. Once, the website is done then you need to point the A record to your new server.

I recommend that you create a WordPress website from the ground up because WordPress websites are simple to make due to the abundance of themes and plugins available.
