Actually directadmin is fine, but some additional security rules won't hurt. Enable 2FA for your admin area more here: https://help.pcextreme.com/administration/setup-2fa-for-your-directadmin-account/
Disable ssh root login, and so on.

The main things you'll want to do are ensure you're using strong, unique passwords, and keeping your OS and its packages up-to-date. Assuming you do that, you won't go far wrong.
You may also like to install ClamAV and Linux Malware Detect and configure them to run daily scans with automatic quarantine and email alerts. This will help to keep your sites free of malware, whilst also alerting you to the fact there was a security breach which should be investigated.
