Internet nowadays plays a big part of our everyday lives. We can‘t pass our day without looking and checking at our social media accounts and posting photos among others.
In reality, social media plays a big influence when it comes to communication and advertising. Facebook for example helps small business advertise for free, buy simply posting their products online. We post our photos and say how we feel by writing a status, whether we are happy or sad.
But social media not always play on a positive side. Sometimes internet brings a negative effect ,mostly on our younger generation. Studies say that more children now are more interested in using the internet ,playing mobile games, and active in their social media account, instead of engaging in a lot of activities ,such as sports or bond with their family outside.
This was a sad reality ,but as a parent it is our responsibility to guide our children ,especially in using internet and social media accounts.
We also as adults ,must learn how to use social media responsibly. A lot of people now was sharing to much information on internet, without thinking that other people can use their info in some illegal ways.
“Think Before we Click”... Social media was created for us to communicate and to share. But i hope all of us ,will be a responsible citizen when it comes to using the internet.
Hope you like my post. Tnx for reading

Social Media platforms are taking up peoples everyday lives. We always witness how much time most people including us are spending using different apps and online platforms just to be with every thing that happens around us. Even children at a young age has been exposed to social medias accidentally by just using their parent's gadgets. We need to change our approach on how to make use of social media because most people are being anti-social and always using or facing their phones instead of interacting and harmonizing physically with their friends and loved ones or with the world rather.

Social media is being used in ways that shape politics, business, world culture, education, careers, innovation and more.
But social media platforms affects the lives and their lifestyle of the people. On the negative side, it takes a lot of their time instead doing some household chores at home and doing school and office work. But it also has positive side which is much greater than negative. Social media teaches us to be communicate efficiently, leads us to discovery certain things, how to innovate and enhance oneself or something, and got it all for you in a snap. Such as more information and stuffs, convenience and advancement.

Social media affects our society into a good and bad way. Good, is that it helps people to connect from around the world. It is used as a medium to contact or communicate wherever your loved ones are. Good, because it gives a big help to marketing companies.
It helps businessmen to increase their sales and customers. It helps develop tourism, and yes, politics makes use of it as well. There are thousands of advantages it makes to our society.

But, it also affects the society in a negative way. People use it for scams, bullying, cyber sex, and more. More that I can actually make hundreds of paragraphs to state it.
But the worst thing it did to us is that people use it to mislead us from the truth. Fake news, bullying, harrasment are those that makes it worst for the society. Yes, it has a lot to do for the success of a certain company, or a certain politician, etc. But there are also those bad effects that it can do to you and to me.

One time, when I was 18, I was in the same class with my cousin (girl) so in the exams period, I went to her house to we can do some homework. After placing our order she suddenly pulled out her pc. I asked for what and she said she's still having some work need to get done. I was about to tell her leave them until after dinner, when she handed me her phone and asked me to take a picture of her working with her pc and wearing her glasses. After that, food arrived. The pc was closed and never opened again. We then went outside to hang out with some friends. When I got home later I saw her latest Instagram photo "Working hard till I success." seriously? I mean social media is affecting our life like making it a "fake life". Just post some lying posts to show people that you are not that real person.

Social media has had a profound effect in modern society, whether people engage in it or not. From Facebook to Twitter, these platforms provide 24/7 news to everyone around the globe, which is a double-edged sword. In one way, it is so convenient to wake up every morning, login to all of your social media accounts, and view breaking news on your phone, computer, or tablet. Furthermore, social media has provided a voice for everyone, despite their race, gender, or economic status. Anyone can exercise their right to freely speak on matters that are important to them at any time, day or night. On the other hand, we forget that those individuals featured in the news are human-beings with jobs, children, and families. So many lives have been destroyed due to the unforgiving nature of social media and the internet as a whole. Before the birth of the internet and social media, the news was not in your back pocket; rather, it could only be seen in the newspaper or on the television. This meant that less people saw the news because it was not available to you at your convenience. With any new technological feature, there will always be pros and cons. Social media is no different, but that doesn't mean that we, as a society, can't improve the way use this ground-breaking medium.

Social media has become an integral part of our life.
I agree it helps us to connect with our peers any time but we are getting addicted to this lifestyle. We don't have a life other than social media, whatever we do we do it for likes on social media.

Baseline is social media has both its pros and cons and it is upto us how we are going to use it.

Social media is in every single place nowadays. You don't have to talk to someone because you already know what he or she is doing by looking on their profile. You can fake your actions by taking a picture and posting it online. You can lie about your life and you can pretend you're somebody else.
Now it's so easy to steal lives.
We are addicted to how many likes we get than what we should do to earn money for LIVING. We are addicted to how many followers we have because it shows our popularity online. We are addicted to how many "friends" are commenting on our pictures because like so you can reach the top of the cool guys. And that's so wrong. I see the people in future eating online, drinking online and forgetting how is to live.

Yes, there's a good part too. You can connect with other people and talk from a long distance.
But I don't see any other thing good.

This is my opinion, of course. But social media is taking control of our lives and we shouldn't let this happen.

Just like everything else in life, there is good and bad to it. Despite in theory bringing people closer together, social media can make people lonelier too. I have always hated Facebook for example because it is just posing and people projecting perfect, ideal images of themselves. That kind of thing in turn can make others depressed because they feel they can't live up to such impossible standards and "amazing lives." So social media can take "keeping up with the Joneses" up to 11. But I think if you target your social media use, it can be quite good. Keeping up with people and things you specifically want to keep up with, gathering interests and hobbies in one place (like pinterest), things like that. I think to get the most out of it, you just need to be disciplined with it.

I am very interested in how social media is used to market products and activities, as you mentioned. I feel that it is a great way for everyone to have a voice and a way to be heard, mostly. While it is true that websites themselves are to be the most immediate mean of communication and sharing for companies, I also think that social media have amazing potential in terms of reach; I myself do often use them to look for local activities and small shops since I can also check other user ratings, rate of interaction etcetera.
Though they can be a bit intrusive, I think it is on our part because we allow them to be such an important part of our lives. We consciously waste our time mindlessly browsing Instagram, Facebook and similars but that is on us, not necessarily on them. In all of this you can't help but be fascinated by how marketing and community outreach has evolved: we give it for granted now and I think that's great. Social media are a surefire way for companies and people to "get out there" and as such it has become a standard for communications to be upheld.
You have mentioned children and their use of socials and that is a good point. For my generation it has been hard to receive guidance from our mentors for the sole reason that not all of them know how to guide us in this new era of technology. As such I believe that we have a big responsability and, as I mentioned before, we need to take care of our impulses and teach our youth that aswell otherwise we might end up slaves of technology.
