Hello!

We are experience what seems to be an error with Cloudflare after we enable it.

Is there any way this can be painlessly fixed ?

We are getting redirect loops on the website.

Is your site wordpress by any chanse? If yes, you should disable or at least try to change SSL in cloudflare to flexible.

Yes !
Will try as we speak.
Will post more if I still encounter this problem.I was annoyed with it but I hope it will go back to normal.
Seems like an easy fix.
Thank you.

Redirect loops happen with Cloudflare when SSL is disabled or in flexible mode in Cloudflare and forced on your website by a .htaccess and your control panel, or the opposite, when SSL is forced by Cloudflare but not on your website. You have to enable or disable SSL on both of them.

I got same problem when using flexible mode in Cloudflare. Why that causes an error when using SSL with Cloudflare? I see in Cloudflare it has full and full strict mode, what is the difference between them? which one should I use?

Flexible mode provide the ability to use SSL on your website even if the origin web server do not support SSL/TLS. With this mode, data are only encrypted between the visitor web browser and Cloudflare servers.
But if there is a http to https redirection on your server, it will create a redirect loop because the Cloudflare servers do not expect a connection with SSL / TLS and they will still be redirected to an https address.
Redirect loop : HTTP -> HTTPS -> HTTP

That's why you have to use the mode full if your website is secured with a SSL Certificate (and you want to use https everywhere)
The full (strict) mode is the same than full, but require a valid SSL certificate signed by a Certificate Authorithy (it can be Let's Encrypt, Comodo, DigiCert etc...) when you can use a self-signed certificate with the mode full.

Here an image to explain each SSL mode :
