I want to distinguish if I am using a Cloud VPS or normal VPS only? Is there a different thing between them?

No you can't and it's a big problem in the hosting industry.

For example we sell "Cloud" VPS that are built on openstack and KVM will full redundancy to everything which is also why our products are more expensive.

as Virtubox said people put the word cloud on everything even it's a old single server, it's just marketing trying to dupe people by providers that don't have a real "cloud". False advertising imo but no one can do anything to stop it, It's like selling gold plated advertised as solid gold, looks good to the uneducated eye but it's all a scam.

It's a constant battle and I get so tired of talking to buyers on our live chat asking why the products are more expensive than most. They think a server is a server and your just expensive.

Let them go buy their non cloud non dedicated VPS for $4 a month and cry when it all goes wrong. People seem to think hosting services run on fresh air with zero costs.

this questions has bee na asked a number of times, I believe. We'd better avoid duplicated threads. The main difference is that the Cloud Servers (VMs) are virtual instances created on top of a Cloud computing infrastructure which has 2 main infrastructure components - Processing Nodes and Storage Area Network. Unlike them the regular VPS are hosted on stand-alone serves with virtually no redundancy.

hi,

Virtual Private Server:
One physical server, divided into several smaller server slices that each act as their own virtual server environment.

Cloud Servers:
Cloud servers utilize multiple servers connected together in a cluster which is backed by SAN storage.

You will get Dedicated Resources as well as around 100% uptime using the Cloud servers. Also, these servers are a little bit expensive as compared to Virtual Private Server.

A cloud configuration is like a raid among disks. You have multiple physical servers that are connected together via a software raid. Your data can be spread out between many physical machines that way you can have multiple hardware failures without any data lose. When a machine fails it's just replaced or repaired and then added back to the cloud.

The problem with cloud is it removes the hardware failure from the equation but there still can be software failures that can bring the cloud down.

A VPS would reside on one physical machine that has many disks that are in a raid configuration so if a disk fails it can be replace before any data lose. There is still redundancy with hardware like redundant power supplies and nic cards but if a CPU or RAM, Raid card fails the node will go down.

A Cloud server will be known as-as a VPS server however a VPS isn't a cloud server. Below area unit some key variations between a cloud hosting & a VPS or VDS hosting. in a very VPS hosting, one dedicated server is partitioned off into multiple servers.
