Hello guys! I have a blog of my own where I am looking forward to ask my visitors to submit their emails so that I can reach to them again. How risky this can be and how to make sure that the information they provide is kept secured?

I guess you are looking for "Newsletter feature" If so just search for "wordpress newsletter plugin" and you can find many. Personally I do not have experience with any of them; so just go through the list and pick one based on its popularity, reviews and update frequency which you can find from changelog. Those plugins will save the details in your database. So as long as your Wordpress installation / database is secure, it'll be fine.

You can have the contact form the visitors email. In WordPress, there are various plugins for contact form. All details will be stored in the database. You can access the details from there.

I wouldn't do it. It might raise their suspicion or send them away from your blog. They might think:

A.) You're a hacker who wants their email for nefarious purposes.
B.) You want their email so you can spam the crap out of them with useless stuff.

I would instead try and get them to post their social media accounts if they have any or are active on social media. You can contact them that way if you need to on your end. FB and twitter both have messengers or Direct messaging. While on their end, leaving their Twitter, Facebook or Linked In profile link on your blog works in their favor because it will get them more followers or likes.

Nowadays, people.won't give you their active emails because they initially thinks that it may use for fraud or public information. Instead of asking their emais, think of another way that they can fill up that you can reach them.

Asking an email address might be a lead to earn income. When you ask, people may think that you have something to sell. Others may also think that you are just getting information that may result to future problems such as stealing their money through fund transfer in banks. Well, these kinds of thinking could not be avoided.

For those who are not doubting, you can get their email addresses by posting informative blogs that urge them to hurriedly open your site. But before you let them open you site, you ask them to fill-up their email addresses.

There is nothing risky to ask for visitor's email address and security is not a factor in this case. Maintaining a good security is always mandatory whether you are sending emails to your visitors or not. You can use a plugin for collecting emails and have a healthy communication with your visitors.

I would suggest using something like MailChimp, you can use their API to integrate nicely with your existing applications.

Internet is full of hackers, everywhere. Therefore, very few people will be willing to submit their email address.

Although people might suspect that you will get their personal info when you ask them to provide something like email, they should have an option of opting out for every message you are going to send to them. Like the principle of a physical address, when people receive letters by mail, they always have that option to stop them from sending and that option should be visible and clear for them to see. But in my opinion,in most cases, sending nor receiving email doesn't really hurt the security of the owner.
