All suggestions are welcome on how to choose the most reliable hosting provider. Thanks
Hello there,

That is a good question.Well, first of all,the first guideline is already on your thread title. How to choose "reputable" and reliable hosting provider. The word reputable is in quotes because it is the first factor. For you to identify a reliable hosting provider, you have to look for views from other people who may have partnered with the hosting company in the past or even the existing clients. They may have left reviews on the company website which you can check online. These views are what comprise the reputation of the hosting provider.Secondly you should do some research and find out what kind of machines(hardware) the hosting company uses.Do they use high quality hardware or just cheap knock-offs?This will help you to weed out the unreliable hosting providers.

You should inquire about their scalability options.Do they offer room for growth? What I mean is that you should find out what actions the company is willing to make if for example the volume of your traffic quadruples.Ask a lot of "if's" and make sure you get appropriate answers. If you find out that they don't have back up plans for every possibility, keep on searching for other hosting providers until you find one that can give you assurance. The next step is to make check and make sure that the hosting provider you are considering is offering customer support.Do they offer assistance to clients in case of queries? If not it is advisable to continue with your search.

If you are a big environment conservationist like me, you may want to consider if the data center of the hosting company has a negative effect to the environment. For my case,I would rule out any hosting company that is not eco-friendly.I would say check on the security the hosting providers offer.Every company will say they have excellent security protocols in case things go haywire but you can never take their word for it.Instead, check the reviews they get from customers and make your choice.Lastly,it is good to go with a company that has a money-back policy in case you test their services and end up dissatisfied.

In choosing a reputable and reliable webhosting provider one must consider the following:
1. Storage amount - this is important as this will inform you as to how much data can you store.
2. Bandwidth - this means the amount of data your host will provide you. In other words, it is the limit/capacity for each download and upload.
3. Number of Domains and subdomains - Make sure that the web host will let you host multiple domains as there will be a limit on how many domains you can have on one account
4. Features - make sure that the web hosting provider offers email accounts for the domains as well as how many email accounts will they let you set up.
5. Tech Support - this is very important so as to ensure someone will help you if you find difficulties along the way
6. Price/Cost - last to consider is the price or cost of service.

You should test their support, email them and see what sort of response you get. You can tell a lot about a provider from how they react to new customer asking questions.

Most of web host provides good services, there are not so okay in terms of design but is cheap, there is also pricey web hosts but provides quality output. So long as you are good with their services, you feel secured with them and they have a good up time, then its okay.

Hi,

One thing that I will be suggesting to you is to take a look on reviews of a hosting company. Simply by entering the search bar of Google will do alot of magic, that the one where you can read reviews of a company and if they are good. If you can't find them please contact the provider and ask if you can find their reviews in someway. I offer reviews via Facebook, Hostadvice and hostsearch. These are mostly trustble to do and see that it are real reviews. If you cannot find them and the provider won't share should I not buy a package at them.

first start to list whats important for you.

Website loading time ?
Is backup and restoration important ?
Are you looking for a hosting with SSL ( even the free one like "lets encrypt" ) ?
Do you need softaculous ?
etc
then adress those features when comparing.

E-reputation says a lot. Check out social networks for reviews, and also in terms of public uptime webhostingstuff have cool records.
You will notice that payed reviews, and many many website list the top 15 companys to generate "leads" for hoster. Getting impartial reviews is hard to find.
Test the hosting, send a mail now, then send it after 8 hours. You will see how quick they reply.
If a refundable policy exist, try the hoster.

cheers

There are several features you should take into account.
It depends on how many email you think to send, it depends on whether or not you own your own domain. it depends on if you need to manage several domains, it depends on if you need also to sync your calendar activities.
Other important features are : catch all options, backup system, Antispam , antivirus , DKIM adn SPF/SRS Management and so on
Cheers

All of the above. Plus the following:

Always find out for yourself how good the company is. The best way is to find a company which gives you a free trial. If none is available, look for a company which gives a nearly free trial, like just one dollar for the first month. Failing that, buy a smallest plan available.

Then be pesky. Ask questions. At all times of the day. See how they react. That will give you some indication of how good their service will be when you really need help.

Choose an experienced server hosting provider rather than a reputed one. It will help you manage costs.
Choose any hosting service but until you get good server uptime, it is useless. Also, look for experienced technical support. It will reduce your downtime.
If you are not ready to do this, then choose cloud server hosting. It will save you from hell of problems.

I have sites on Godaddy, Siteground, and WPEngine. And have used Hostgator in the past.
It depends on what your needs are.
If your using Wordpress, for low traffic go with Siteground, for a high traffic site go with WP Engine. If you aren't using wordpress than I would suggest Siteground or HostGator. I have a dedicated server at Godaddy for a non-wordpress high traffic site and have no issues, but my low traffic site are all at Siteground currently.
For a basic setup, it's hard to beat Site ground in price, reliability and ease of use.

There are quite a few webhosting providers. If I were you I would take a look at their Trustpilot's reviews before purchasing. It helps to read reviews of other customers to see what kind of provider they are.

From my personal experience as a developer and website owner, here is my priority list:

1. It has a good uptime record and reasonable bandwidth.
2. A reliable (and fast) user support ready to help you with any issues.
3. It is easy to scale in case your website grow its userbase.
4. It has money back guarantee for the first 14 days or month (in case things turn out ugly).

That should get you covered for most cases. As others have pointed out, reading reviews is a MUST. And if you can get them from different sources, even better. So hopefully you make up your mind!

Selection of best web hosting provider is vital and for this, you need to consider few things. So, keep few things in your mind prior to opting web hosting and those few things includes:
1. Know your hosting needs
2. Go through their pricing structure
3. Check for all Add-ons
4. Server Reliability / Up time Scores
5. Go with trial offer first
6. Check their reviews from all the review sites

My list of priority would be the following:
1. Server population (which influences speed)
2. Extra Cpanel features
3. Price
4. Customer Support (I would put customer support higher for non-Cpanel accounts)
5. Promotions (Some promotions can really save a bunch of money
6. Web server technologies

Right now- almost every hosting companies are using the same technology to attract customers when it comes to hosting services. What is important is what they can offer after you signed up with them. That is where customer care or support kicks in. Well, that is only for me.
