VPS is a virtual private server in which you will get root access of your server. In VPS server you can host multiple websites and if your website traffic is high you can go for dedicated server.

The full form of VPS is a Virtual Private Server. In web hosting terms, hosting providers logically create many virtual servers for their clients on one physical server, which is known as VPS hosting.

Advantages of VPS Hosting:
  • You will get more disk space, CPU, bandwidth and other resources
  • VPS Hosting is cheaper than Dedicated Server Hosting and server(virtual) is dedicated to you
  • Traffic and activities of other VPS customers will not affect your operation on the same server.
  • The loading time of the website will less and will get high performance.
  • You have the privilege to choose the operating system and software you want to install on the server.
  • With the VPS account, you will get root access so that you have complete control of configurations and software installations.
  • You can handle all actions with the interface of your control panel application.
  • Many hosting providers provide managed VPS hosting services so that their clients do administrative tasks.

Disadvantages of VPS Hosting:
  • It requires technical experience to configure your server
  • VPS hosting users do not have full control over their environment as compared to dedicated hosting.
  • If some problem occurs with the software you have running, you'd have to fix it yourself or hire someone to solve the problem.
  • The hosting provider maybe not solve some networking issues, billing problems, and issues where you are unable to access your virtual private server.

It's a virtual container which is a part of a bigger dedicated server. VPS has it's own OS installed.

A virtual private server is made when a physical server is split into smaller, virtual container. a bit like a dedicated server, a virtual private server has its own OS, dedicated storage, dedicated RAM and CPU resource but it costs much but a dedicated server.

VPS service 90% will be same from host to host. You will need to manage and configure it from your end as VPS are un-managed.

If you are not familiar with the server setup then you should go with the reseller service. Reseller will be the best option for small companies. You can setup your own child nameservers to maintain your own identity.

Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting is the hosting of distinct entities for unlike clients in a single server. This technology permits the hosting provider to partition and create numerous virtual servers from one physical server. Clients would share the server which contains the hardware itself and the connection. VPS hosting might be the way to go to help deliver growth for your website. VPS hosting is a rapid, stress-free, and inexpensive solution that can fit the requirements of any website out there. VPS hosting is better than the majority of other options such as shared hosting, the most common type. The reason for this is the huge number of excellent assistances you receive, these being numerous of them.

A Virtual Private Server (VPS) is an isolated virtual machine on a physical server sold as a service by an Internet hosting provider. There can be dozens of VPSes created on a single physical server with its own IP addresses. The customers usually have super user-level access (root access), to that virtual machine, so they can install any software that runs on that OS.

Advantages of VPS:
-Fully isolated environment
-Own RAM, storage, and operating system (usually Linux.)
-Costs can be nearly comparable with shared hosting
-Fully managed support
