Is Cloudflare a must for every wordpress blog?

Hi all,
So I recently set up a blog on Wordpress and I notice that Cloudflare is quite popular. Though when I had it configured none of my website posts would load as fast as before. It's so slow that its not even worth using.

But I am just wondering what you all think?, should I keep trying?.

Hello poohead346, have you read the Cloudflare article to configure properly the CDN with WordPress ?

If Cloudflare may not make your website blazing fast, it should not make it slower.

@poohead346 No CloudFlare is not a "must". You can use it only if you need to use the cache in order to get any website (including WrodPress based one) to load faster fro certain points. There is also another feature of CloudFlare which is useful for WrodPress based websites - it provides certain security features. However, those can be implemented without it.

My answer for it is, it depends on your website. It's not must to have CloudFlare enable for your WordPress blog.

Main purpose of CloudFlare is to perform the caching and increase the TFTB that is time to first byte load. It can be done by various WordPress plugins too. There is plugin developed by CloudFlare under WordPress which you can enable.

If you will enable the CloudFlare then there will be DNS settings which you will need to perform form DNS manager. So you will need to take care of it after enabling the CloudFlare.

If your wordpress website are not very popular, don't have thousand of concurrent visitors daily, and is not eating a lot of server resources like bandwidth then you might not need to worry with cloudflare.
Only very popular and big big websites benefits from a CDN.
