I want to change wordpress template to make them different from other catgories on a site. I searched and read some tutorials.

There are two ways to do this.

- Using a plugin.
- Create custom codes in category.php to change template based on category id?

So what is the best method to change template based on category in Wodpress?

Best way would be category.php method. If you aren't a developer then use a Plugin.

100% agree with the comment about. Don't even mess with anything if you are not a developer. Plugins are the easiest way for you to get what you want without needing a developer to step in for you. That is their purpose.

I agree with you, but there are some parts I want to change to fit my requirements but I could not do because i don't know how to change codes on the plugins.
Getting support from the author of a plugin is very hard, or take long time.

Anytime I get a plugin I make sure it is up to date or has been recently updated. I know a lot of plugins that are out there aren't and it is a clear sign the developer has abandoned them.
