I have do some searching and browsing dedicated server offers from Rackspace but their pricing is so expensive if compared with other providers as OVH, Scaleway or online.net.
Is their pricing included support and managed services?

They are far more expensive than what they should be. Basically because the are reputed . Example like Apple which is selling triple price than what the market sells same product.

Rackspace offers fully managed services and they target large corporations with huge IT budgets. OVH, scaleway and online.net are all un-managed providers and they are targeting the low end market.

The apple example is a perfect description of what I'm talking about once a brand is so strong and generally considered the go to place for that service or thing people will pay 2/3 times the going rate.

I'm very impressed they manage to sell at this price. I agree, the market the target for them is big business and $700 a month is nothing to those customers.

Business is business and if they can sell the same thing as many others for 3x the price then they must be doing something right.

I'm wondering the same thing you can get that same server from me for $129/mo lol.
What are specs for this?

I understand because they are reputed but why customers can easily accept price high like that if compares with other dedicated server providers.

I don't think managed service is more expensive than unmanaged server like that, if I hire a system admin that can save more and is it a good idea?

I could agree a bit more with you.

Many managed hosting services out there like Rackspace but why they are cheaper.
Maybe it depends on other factors.

You guys are right about the brand part, but I also hear it's their customer support that is really good. So chances are maybe they are charging for their customer support.

Well, you aren't paying Rackspace just for the server. Their managed hosting is far different than what major providers offer.
Usually, most of the cheaper managed hosting providers will just provide a 24/7 support with proactive ( not reactive) security and off-site backups and all this is provided only if you are using cPanel.

Rackspace, on the other hand, doesn't just deploy a standard setup for your servers. They make sure to understand you service requirement and deploy the required architecture ( software and hardware based ) along with their 24/7 Reactive support ( They will actively search for threats and make sure breaches don't occur rather than just initially securing and patching the system weekly)

Secondly, these guys monitor your services to the CORE and lastly, most of the managed hosting providers don't consider looking into a client's PCI compliance where else RackSpace does.
