You will get what you pay for in terms of support and service and probably performance. I see lots of startup hosts offer packages like this just to get a lot of new signups. Unless the host is making money some other way it will be hard for them to sustain a company on this type of product.

It's a little to cheap to be good imo. I would not recommend any plan for that price.

I have not ever used a hosting plan under $6 /month. The last shared hosting I used is Hostgator 3 years ago and it's baby package start from $10 /month. Now I switched quiet to VPS hosting and feeling great with this service.

The price is reasonable and the mentioned features can handle a normal website. But we can't judge on being uptime and customer service. The best way is finding published customer reviews about the company.

5GB disk space for $4 would be more reasonable. 10GB is too much, IMO.

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is...

Mind you, if the offer was legit, I doubt the level, quality and reliability of the support and service would be hard to sustain at that price point. Something has to give up eventually. Only way to find out is to give it a try and let us know... either that or find reviews or experiences from external review sites about the provider floating around the net.

Keep in mind that these specs are for the most part irrelevant. However, before making a determination is the price being offered a promo? If so, what is the regular rate afterwords? Also, how long has the company been in business?

At $4.00 per year, I dont think 5, 10, 20 or unlimited GB of diskspace is going to make much of a difference.

I thought it said $4/month, not $4/year. $4/year is way too cheap.

It's mainly diskspace and admin time that cost the most; the other limits aren't a problem.

So just to be sure no mistakes were made...were speaking $4 a year, and not per month, right? So about 33 cents a month..correct? A penny a day host?!?!

Let's turn this into a challenge!!

To operate a penny a day hosting...how many customers would need to be a server to generate profit? Let's also keep it simple and say that each customer only has one domain, one mysql db, and one email account.

As Picard would say...engage!!!

Hosting at $4 per year doesn't sound right, or at least not right to get good hosting and support for that price. It just sounds like it's too good to be true and usually when it does sound that way, it is.

I would check and see how the host is making money by charging only $4 a year. They might have some kind of clause where they put ads on your site or something else to make money. If you decide to go with them then before you do I would just do some Google searches and see what kind of information you can find on them. You might be able to find out something about them and it's always best to learn before buying and not after.

I doubt that at that price they have any kind of quality support or servers so it will probably be better to spend more and get a good quality host that has good equipment and quality support. You can find several of them here on this site in this section: https://forumweb.hosting/130-web-hosting-offers

If you are getting web hosting for $4 a year then it will probably be slow and have bad or no support. I would be cautious with any web hosting service at this price. I have paid that much per month and it was bad!

I wouldn't even think about hosting a production/serious site on a $4 per year hosting plan. Even if it's a static site. Waaaaay too cheap to be reliable.

If it's not for production or very important sites, i'd buy it just for giggles and kept a daily backup that i can quickly restore to another server. Coupled with some cheap 88 cents domain name, might be a good place to finally start that conspiracy theory blog that i've been thinking about :D

For a penny a day host, you will end up in this data center...

messy_datacenter_001.jpg

..and have this guy for Support...

...because the last thing you want to do is actually send him a ticket saying you have issues.

Yup. If any hacker gets upset with your website, they can and will destroy your website, the server, and every device this "company" connects to the servers with. Security for a penny a day :hysterical:

Now you are just asking for a law suit for exposing the iPage data center without authorization! :p

The left "server" is iPage. The middle, BlueHost, and the right HG. The HG "server" seems to be falling apart...like their service. :help:

It is highly recommended not to take $4/year hosting.
Better find a free hosting provider with ADs.

Hahaha some of the above comments are super funny!!
4 USD is super cheap, if you need something reliable do more research and try reading reviews on the company.. remember you get what you pay for!

Best of luck!
