Hi there,

Coming straight to the point, my blog is getting automated spam comments consistently. I installed some plugins and they have protected my blog from 250 spam comments already.

I have been using Anti-Spam Bee or WP-SpamShield Anti-Spam Plugin, which blocks spammers from leaving comments or logging in. As said it protected my blog from robot registrations and malicious attacks. But since then I didn't get even normal comments, it also can cause difficulties when a visitor comment on my blog post?

Since your experience, how do you get visitors to post on your blog with quality comments? I usually end my posts with a call to action. What else can be done? are you promote your hosting blog on other blogs or forums?

Most of the spam comments are left for making back links which also turns out to be against Google policy.
You can try to report them to search engines. Since I dont have a blog I am not sure if this works but it is definitely worth giving a try.

In terms of real visitors leaving comments, you should try to create an open question or conversation in your blog posts which is much more likely to lead to comments.

I love working with hosting related blogs as long as the blog has a real connection with the visitors.
