I am running some WHM/cPanel servers, and need to upgrade my Apache or PHP version, I heard that cPanel provides the Easyapache tool to make these updates a breeze. How can upgrade Apache and PHP using cPanel's Easyapache in WHM or I can run it from the command line?

This can be done from WHM or the command line.

Command line as root: /scripts/easyapache (select the options you want and start the compile process)

If using WHM use the easyapache GUI and select the options you want.

No, these changes will be global and effect every site on the server.
Once you have selected your options it will recompile everything from source, this can take some time.

If your not sure exactly what you want to achieve then do not do the upgrade, it could cause problems.

Latest cpanel also have Easyapache4 which will allow you to have multiple php versions and you can select which version you want to be selected as default for all account and which all modules you need for each php version etc. It is still in beta but we have been using it for some servers

If you are using easyapache4, you should run the easyapache from WHM and you can select the PHP or apache version once you want to compile. multiple PHP is nowsupported in WHM. If you are using older than easyapache4, you can it from WHM and terminal.

/scripts/easyapache from terminal and it is gives the window to select the PHP version and apache version you need to compile.
