OMG - You are using godaddy lol... You will have to log into your godaddy account in order to access their user control panel...

However keep in mind godaddy control panel is completely different to standard cpanel as it is their own "in-house" developed system... It is the most unorganized mess that I have ever used... It is counter-intuitive and further has hidden costs built into it with features that you would expect to be free lol...

You can expect to spend hours trying to figure out simple things which normally would take seconds when using standard cpanel.... This is one of the reasons I hate godaddy with a vengeance and refuse to use them for hosting... As a domain registrar that's different...

You can forget about using your cpanel videos for guidance as godaddy control panel is different to the cpanel on your video tutorials...

If you want to have cPanel on your web hosting then you need to buy a shared hosting package.

You will have to read their service included cPanel or not or asking support before buying.

Godaddy don't have a cPanel on their web hosting, they used their own control panel that very difficult to use for normal users.

Always read features to know which you will have before you purchase something. :)

That's not correct.... By default the lowest tier with any web host is shared hosting... When you want to upgrade then you'll be considering vps, semi or dedicated etc... From reading the OP response I'm sure she's on shared hosting as you really need to be experienced and have an absolute need for such upgrades which costs way more... For the rest I agree - especially with regards to godaddys backend user inteface (their version of control panel) - as I mentioned is completely different to standard cpanel and is like an endless maze to navigate through...

There are a lot of options that are available to you, and the rest of the posters are right, you are going to want to switch to a proper hosting provider. Another thing to keep in mind - cheaper is not better. If you're going for a smaller package, don't pay much less than $3.99 as you will be sacrificing support.

Switching from host gator would be like hopping out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Check the offers section. Look around for reviews. Submit a tucket to companies support desk to see how well they respond.

Maxwell, I see many complaining about hosting uptime, support and so on..My question that if your website is so important; why is it so hard to spend more than the cost of a cup of coffee on it a month?

and no..I don't work for hg

If you have purchased hosting from godaddy, I believe that you can install Wordpress directly from their control panel. It seems that Godaddy doesnt offer managed wordpress, so you need to manage your own wordpress.

You can ask them for installation.

If you haven't purchased it, I would recommend you to stay away from godaddy. You can read about their reviews first. If you only want to host small site/blog, then take a look at asphostportal.com

I loved Hostgator, however, I needed more for my business. I just got with Liquid web and their heroic support is awesome. Only been there a week and the money I paid for everything has been worth it for the support alone. They are outstanding.

Hello ghee12,

I know you may have found another host by now but its no harm in letting you know and letting other potential users wanting to host a wordpress website, have you tried looking for a WordPress specilized host at all. there are a few out there depending on where you want it hosted aswell. Also i did a quick google search and found this article which may help you: http://www.wpsitecare.com/performance-of-7-top-wordpress-hosting-companies-compared/

I hope this helps.
