SSD as they are faster than HDD. However it also comes with higher cost therefore you have to weigh the pros and cons of getting SSD as they are much more expensive.

Is it worth getting SSD for the price you are paying?

I think SSD is great for instant access on a normal PC. I am not sure about web hosts as a lot of hosts use CloudLinux and depedning on the thir limits depends on how well their site will perform regardless of SSD or not.

I'm always use SSD, but old servers still has SAS. but best choice is SSD because faster than ever. I tried Intel 750 Series. Wow. Very Good Experience

Hands down SSD. Much faster I/O and overall server performance.

Web hosts that still use SATA are looking to cram as many customers as they can on one box for a massive ROI.

Not a good approach to quality hosting IMO.

Sata is old and cheaper like everyone told,
ssd more secure, faster, now providers are sellingit for the same price as SATA , so i think everyone will get ssd these days

I always try to use ssd except for backup. SSD is much faster than HDD.But for backing up hdd is better , it's cost less.It's a win win situation for price vs performance.

SSD are so much quicker than conventional SATA drives. There are no moving parts because there is no spinning disk like you would find in a SATA drive that has to read and write data to an actual disk.

Both have their own advantages. With SATA, you can definitely get much more storage, and you can still achieve great performance if you utilize enterprise drives, with an enterprise RAID controller.

Like a memory stick, there are no moving parts to an SSD. Rather, information is stored in microchips. Conversely, a hard disk drive uses a mechanical arm with a read/write head to move around and read information from the right location on a storage platter. This difference is what makes SSD so much faster.

In my opinion, an SSD (solid state drive) is lot more better when compared to a SATA or Hard Disk Drive. The manifold difference in their access speeds makes this comparison even more drastic. An SSD is 90 to 100 times more faster than a SATA. It has better performance, reliability, flexibility (in terms of memory), and what not. The power efficiency is good, consuming on less power with increased battery life. It is widely available with different options and is great value for the money in the long run because of its lifespan.

So we can see that an SSD is a clear winner when compared to a SATA.

It's really funny, that the user looks just at the "SSD speed"... The connection speed and the processor speed is way more important in a dedicated server. So if you have a XXL-super SSD but you are on a 100MBps wire, then the SSD won't speed things up as dramaticaly as expected compared to a SATA or SCSI.

SSD or nothing. I've used sata hard-drives in the past and can say the difference is pretty much clear. Ssd is fast and devoid of failing like the sata counterparts.

I would definitely opt for SSD over SATA. SSD are 100% electronic. They are much faster than the traditional hard drives.

As SSDs have no moving parts, SSDs are definitely more reliable. Traditional hard drives have mechanical parts moving extremely quickly and over time these parts can degrade and fail due to daily usage.
