Hi guys,

I was wondering does having title tags over 60 characters like 10 characters over have a negative impact on SEO.

Or should I keep it under 60 characters as a standard form in SEO? Any advice?

Hello,

I don't believe that having long title tags will negatively impact your SEO, however for the sake of making your title tags readable and appealing to your visitors you should probably make it as short as possible (ideally within 60 characters).

Since I am using SEO plugins on my Wordpress sites to set title tags, I am limited to 60 characters when writing the title tags.

That being said, what really influences your SEO is whether you have included your targeted keyword in the title tag or not. It's recommended to include your targeted keyword at the very start of the title tag as much as possible in a natural way.

All the best!

Nothing is good if it has no limits. Title tags are the element that is responsible for people to come to visit your page from the SERP's in the first place. If you make them to big then users won't be able to read it and you will not get any click throughs.
