I used to write long title for blog posts but I am wondering if only 3 or 5 words with keywords in the title, which is better for ranking?

Does long title have more SEO friendly?

For new website is best to use long-tail keywords as that will give you more chances of ranking for such keyword cause the competition is low! Once your website starts ranking high for many longtail keywords then Google will start increasing your rankings for show ones as that will indicate authority for Google which is quite important factor in SEO.

#1 rule. Write for readers, not for search engines.

You want your title to grab your visitors attention and make them read the article. Make sure you are also writing high quality, engaging content that visitors will want to read and share. Then you will get lots of organic traffic and backlinks, which will increase your rankings.

You can spend all your time writing content for search engines, but if no humans want to read and share it, your still not going to get the results you want!

It is always better for an article to have a meaningful title - be it long or short. Make sure that your keyword/s are within stipulated 55 character limit. Make it engaging for the reader to click the title and read the matter. Make use of power words like "ninja tips","things you should know", "hot tips" etc. On the whole make it absolutely interesting like you would want to read it yourself.

The results of some research shows that your title has to be as short as possible however there is always a possibility to make your own choice. The thing is that people are trying to get as much information in a short period of time, so if it will be long - he might not even read it. I know a media company that is actually telling their staff to make the titles in only thre words. This is really a great challenge and the fact that they are one of the most popular media in the country makes sense at least a little.

It shouldn't be pretty long or pretty short , for me the ideal length should be around 12-14 words.

Write attractive title for getting Higher CTR. You can read this content, this guy is really brilliant. He wrote many things. :) hobo-web.co.uk/title-tags/

Present day, Google actually didn't collect original title. they are only showing user relevant data. So, always try to use reader friendly & attractive title. :)

I believe you have the option to make your title within the 50-60character limit before Google truncates or rewrites it.

Try to think of your title page as how a typical user will view at first glance upon being shown results of search made. Making title page too short may mean losing out opportunities on available space where you can stuff important keywords, including product category, your brand or company name. More information increases provide your chances of satisying the user's search and clicking your website's link.

I prefer to optimize the title within the framework of 50characters or less just to insure that I will be able to highlight what the content is all about and increase my chances of attracting traffic to my site.

Better choose a short title but a catchy one. Having long title sometimes gets boring. Use witty words to catch attention from the audience. A short title could also catch curiousity from audiences. Being detailed in the title can make an audience conclude and lose their interest on your subject.

I would rather use a short title that is catchy than a very long one without anything. Visitors sometimes are just too busy to read long titles. But well, it also depends with the audience. We have those who tolerate long titles!

I think it depends on the writer if he/she would use a long or short title. But for my own opinion, I would rather prefer the short one as long as it is detailed and direct to the point since most of the readers are a busy people, they would prefer to read article with a short title to minimize the time that they will spent when reading an article. It must be the title alone describes the content of the article. A short title helps readers to understand well what is all about than making a title that is long that makes them think too complicated.

The main purpose of the title is to get the purpose of your blog/post. It can be long or short, depends on the topic. You can have the long titles when necessary. You should add the keywords in your title so it will help to increase the SEO rank. You can use the long tail keywords in your title when you will have the long title.

The title should be simple and easy to understand the purpose of your blog/post so more visitors will get attract to your blog.

The Title is the most important part of Meta Description. If an user searches for an keyword they will look for keyword relevancy.
There is a character limit of 55 for title, try to put target keywords in the title. We should always include target keywords in title and description.
So that you will get maximum clicks.

I agree with the Mod about the organic traffic but it obviously doesn't mean you have to always follow a certain length. From a reader's POV, the length of the titles doesn't turn me away or attract my attention that much, it's the keywords in it. Then we also have titles in the form of questions but those have to be pretty thought provoking/interesting to get traffic. That's not easy to achieve but practice makes perfect, right?
That being said, choosing the right keywords to put in your titles is difficult too... Any input on how to get it just right guys?

For me, it's better to use shorter tittles. Shorter tittles but very creative! Eye-catching and attention seeking. To the point that your target audience will catch up what you are trying to say. It will really depend on your group of audience how you compost a tittle.

Actually it depends on how attractive it is to read, you are using keyword in title this is nice idea but, always long tail keywords not works same way, some time you can use short title and keywords but it should be very attractive then it can be very effective for blog posting.

I believe that a shorter title with an impact and powerful message to its audience would be the greatest factor to consider. If you will create a long one without an interesting title and doesn't strike the audience then it will be no use sometimes and most of the people nowadays gets bored easily and sometimes if you have a long title, they might not even read it. So I guess this would be what I can share with my honest opinion.
