I am not trying to sound like an ass here, however, your question is just
like asking "I've had a job for almost a year now. I go in to work about 1X
per month but my paychecks seem to be very small. Would my checks be
any bigger if I decided to work 40 hours per week instead of just 1 day a
month?"
Of course you should post daily. Not posting because you are creating
a product is not a valid excuse or reason. In fact, use that as the premise
of your daily posts. AND, I wouldn't limit it to just one post per day either.
I would certainly post at LEAST once per day, but post once in the morning
and provide an update to the product creation. Then post again later in the
afternoon with some form of article related to the subject of your blog and
then again in the evening with yet another update or another informational
blog post.
Post about the product, post what accomplishments you made that
day, hell, even post any setbacks you've encountered.
If you're a product developer, you definitely want to figure out a way to get
some buzz going about your product, even long before it actually exists. This
is also a great way to know whether your product will be a bang or a bust with
your readers (which is ultimately who you're creating it for anyway, right?)
If you're creating a product which will be high in demand, then your visitors
would love to know about the process and how things are going. Besides, the
feedback you could receive would be priceless, plus, if you get your visitors
actively involved in the development process, they are also more likely to
purchase when released because they will feel like they have been a part
of it.
