Hi

Does any of you over here use Western Union?

If yes, can you help in letting us know how good it is as a payment processing system?

I have used Western Union in the past.
I think its largest drawback is that it is
relatively expensive in comparison to
other methods of getting paid. Besides this, it works
well and is available in most countries For an online business
some clients may find it a bit cumbersome as you have to
find a Western Union outlet near you to use
when you want to send or receive money.

Not a very good system as it is the most expensive gateway to transfer money to a foreign country.

Not so convenient too as both party will need to go to the bank.

Western Union is the most expensive option I've seen. Moreover, is very insecure.

Since Western Union is the most Expensive of All the options, but Its availability in different countries make it a step ahead from other processors. But it can be a little bit insecure, but easy to approach WU, as you can find so many agents near You.

I think it's better for them who don't have any payment processing accounts or accept online fund transfer e.g. Neteller, Skrill, Payoneer, Paypal, Payza or other. Usually people who are not very used to / comfortable with fund transfer through the internet use wire transfer or such services.

WU is not a practical online payment system to use, you might have some people willing to use WU, depending on what you are offering, but you will also lose many potential customers.

Instead you should use automated payment gateways, such as PayPal, Payza, Skrill, etc. And you can include WU as an alternative payment method.

Western Union money transfer service is a bit expensive, especially for people buying items in small amounts. Besides, many cybercriminals like using this payment method to con people online. There have been many stories confirming this. Just consider if it's really necessary and be careful with anyone you are dealing with.

I use Western Union to receive funds from my international clients. Paypal withdrawal is not available in my country therefore, if anyone sends me funds through paypal I cannot use it. Payza is available for withdrawal, however, payza charges are very high. I ind western union very convinent. In order to send funds or receive funds through western union, you don't have to walk to the agent,m you can send online and withdraw through bank. The sender need to have online western union account and once the funds are sent, the receiver can collect the funds to his banks. Western Union charge is a bit high compared to other payment transfer system.

They are a (Worldwide) money transfer service, only - not a bank. The advantage is same day transfers. Disadvantages are fees payable and fraud risk if not used sensibly,Suggest you find a Credit Union or Community Bank. Western Union is for money transfers.

I prefer, Western Union the only disadvantage is that it is expensive but with good reason in my opinion. If you can afford it this is the way to go. This is the most secure way to receive and send money. It is found in most if not all locations worldwide. It has a larger network, than most of the payment processing systems we advocate for. I 've never heard of any money being lost or a transaction being hacked. You receive your money really quickly. It also has partnerships with various banks.

Hi i use western union locally only. In our country, it is one of the most reliable money transfers here in a fast and efficient way. They are like mushroom sprouting here everywhere, you can easily find them in any busy streets, malls, supermarkets, banks etc. without waiting too long in a que. The fee is affordable and sometimes they offer low rate at a certain season. My family and relatives abroad use this more often than a door-to-door money transfer.

We can also find many branches of Western Union in our country. The transfer of money is fast even it came from the other countries. You can withdraw the money right away. There is no long waiting for approval. However, the charges of Western Union is higher than other money transfer companies.

Apart from in cases where you personally know the sender this isn't a good idea. It's not a practical way of receiving payments as there is no IPN-type system to connect with your backend. Furthermore almost everyone who suggests this as a payment method is attempting a scam in one way or another.

Like to share some information about Western Union.

*Western Union has been handling local and international money transfers since 1871.
*It has a huge network with 500,000 agent locations spread across 200 countries.
*You have the flexibility to transfer money using cash, debit/credit card or a bank account for cash pickup or deposited to recipient's bank or card.
*Before you transfer. Make sure you know about the fees and taxes charged to you and at the point of destination including exchange rate, etc. Check also the transfer speed which may vary from *within minutes to 1-3 days depending on method/service availed.
*Maximum limits differ depending on country of destination, your transaction history, your location and service chosen.

People who are familiar with other payment options will find this more expensive. There are still people in other countries who may prefer Western Union as a trusted provider since they do not have access to banking services or unfamiliar or doubtful of other payment methods. If there countries where your payment options are not accepted, and there is a Western Union around, then, go for it.

We use Western Union to receive money overseas and here in our country, they have a lot of branches to choose from. In my opinion, their customer service is great and their system was good as well also so far we haven't experienced any delays with our remittances. Here in our country they only require one government-issued identification card for you to transact with them. Overall Western Union for me is a good platform for sending and receiving money also paying bills.

For me Western Union is not a great choice since it offers a higher charge for all money remittances from abroad. One of my friends experiencing such high charge whenever they made to claim a remittance coming from his mother abroad, and most of the time they are out of funds. It takes few more days to receive the money sent due to lack of proper funds.
