I was wondering if you guys have ever bought likes or followers for your facebook/twitter accounts for business or personal purpose? For me, I bought 5000 likes for a Facebook fanpage with $10 in the past but I have not done it again. what about you? Buying likes or followers worth it?
Harry, honestly do not listen to anyone that says buying twitter/facebook followers will hurt your business. If you don't know what you are doing or who youre buying from then sure. Message the seller (that has all good reviews) and ask them for examples of their followers.
We run split test campaigns all of the time. One of the things we tested was how a profile with minimal followers/likes performed against a profile inflated with 10k followers in ads, promoted tweets, and organic traffic.
The inflated profile performed better everytime, receiving a lower cost per follow/like than the profile with a small following.
Inflating a profile is more for the look, so that you obtain real followers. No one is going to want to follow someone with 400 followers. Yet over 10k followers and I get a 60-70% follow back rate when running bots, FL, or ad campaigns.
If you mix the white hat with the black hat it works. I've been doing it for 3 years now with no problems and happy clients. But I'm up front with my clients and explain to them the results and show examples of those results. Just an FYI for anyone that thinks of incorporating this in a social media strategy for clients.
For instance HR YouTube views are kickin' arse right now. I buy 10k YT views and then run TrueView campaigns to mask the fake views. Or thats the assumption and it seems to be working.
You just have to be smart about what you're doing. Stay in IM a while. Try things if you're unsure. How hard is it to create a social profile? Not hard at all. Test services and results. If you don't have money to test with, just forget about IM for now and build up a savings account that you can utilize to invest into trial and error.
