When the internet is a tool for consumers to find products or services everyday then everyone loved email. One of the best parts of internet marketing was email marketing and it is using popular by IMers and webmasters to connect to their subscribers or friends, I came here to discuss, so here are Top 3 reasons why email marketing is important for businesses of all sizes

- It's an effective way to keep customers informed.
- It's easy to customize and integrate into other marketing tactics
- Mobile devices allow people to check their email constantly

Not sure why you say "was", it is of course still very powerful.

Depends on the business model. Some people use email for traffic, others sales, and some for branding. Or for all 3 reasons.

I see it, as it "can" be a reliable source of traffic and sales. I say can because it depends on how you build the list and how you nurture it. You can get slapped by the search engines, but if you have a list you still have income.

Yeah that's one of the best things about email marketing in that its bullet proof against all and any future algo updates.

Of course if your main way of generating new subscribers is through good site ranking position and then get slapped for x reason you'll loose out then.

But the idea is to grow your list to huge levels so its always there to market to.

Like Ron says, email marketing can be used either as a side source of income or your main source or both.

Definitely with the rise of mobile more people can access and read your emails/offers on-the-go.

You have to have the right type of subscribers though. Double opt-ins are the best.

Then you have to actually send emails that contain things they are likely to be interested in / looking for.

There's no point gaining a list of subscribers in the web hosting niche if you're pumping out smoothie or coffee recipes!

That said, I do know of a few good IM's that do enjoy a good smoothie and coffee from time to time.

It is considered as more popular and used to increase the visitors or clients and attracts old clients to buy products immediately. Its a one of the quick way to get good traffic to the website.
