I want to publish 250 articles for my blog that will generate traffic and income, even when I'm not online.

What goals have you set for yourself with writing?

I really haven't set any goals for quantity, especially since I am in the neighborhood of 450-500 between all my sites. My main goal has always been to improve my writing, especially since I have never really liked writing most of my life. I prefer to do the building of a site and even promotion/marketing rather than writing.

I do think that setting goals can help many writers though! ;)

Same here, have not set goals or certain number of posts. Though it might be a good idea :)

250 is a awesome goal, hope you make it.

I just write posts when I have time and am in the mood, or idea's flying around. Sure don't blog as much as I should. Gotta get back to it. I seem to go in spurts, on and off. Probably not the best way.

Plus I usually try to spend more time promoting than posting.

It's good that you want to publish 250 articles but major part is to maintain; only text is not enough you should have to put niche images & videos in blog posts. Regular blog post is a nice marketing strategy but responding each of reviews, comments & replies are also very important. I hope you have man power for this strategy. But do not set goals to post particular 250 articles as you cannot go as blindly.

It is very nice practice to set a goal and realistically achieve it inspite of the challenges and struggles.

Since writing is a creative skill, other factors like mental state, circumstance and other behaviors may affect the ability to write. A professional writer normally has the discipline to produce good articles as demanded. Personal goal is to be able to produce relevant writings that positively affect people's lives. Money eventually comes with successful writing. The satisfaction of getting the recognition and appreciation from other people provide the self-fulfillment which money cannot buy.

I have some goals nothing major.

When it comes to writing I use to enjoy it extremely, you would not see me without a notebook writing poetry, thoughts, and short stories. Over the years I had built strength as well as developed skills giving me the confidence with all the other things to begin a book. I saved the book only in one place, so my husbands sister-in-law stole my memory stick, and I never saw it again. At this point I was completely thrown off for years, I would sit frustrated without writing. I recently begin picking it all back up again planning to continue obtaining more skills as a writer. As of right now I would like to build my skill using these great resources then possibly doing some freelance in the future. Boy, I missed writing and what a release of emotions it can really be like meditating.

I've always had the basis on keeping the content easy to read and for the user to reference easily should they need it. Add images and break up the text as just a big bulk of endless writing will put the user off reading it in most cases.

Also try not to go off topic as reading an article that goes off course makes the article boring for your readers!

I have not set any goals on writing. I just want to write something interesting to make readers enjoy. Writing 250 words is great and even more fulfilling if the content is rich. To add up on it, I would like to put photos that I have taken to complete the uniqueness I want to convey on what I write.

I've just started my blog and after
reading this, I'm adapting your views
on having a target. My initial target
is 7 per week during the first 3 months.
I'll make it 10 per week starting on the
4th month.

My goal in writing in a blog is to enlighten my readers about the social issues in our country such as politics, poverty, extra judicial killings, agriculture and education. I am a bit sensitive when talking about these topics so I want to educate as well my readers on what actions they should take for them to be a good member in our society. I want eye opening articles, I want them to be persuaded by my points of views made stronger by facts and arguments. These are the reasons why I write.

I have not set a goal yet, but soon I will. It is important to have goals in life. For me, it is what keeps me motivated and focused. I'm learning "writing skill" for months now. I am studying a book I bought years ago. The title is "The Elements of Style", Fourth Edition, by William Strunk Jr. and E.B. White. I didn't thought I'm actually giving my time for this small book. When I wasn't really immersed reading blogs and articles I didn't really thought of writing. But I got interested when I got active in FB and Youtube regarding Theology and politics. That's when I was inspired to write also. So now, I am learning anything I can as fast as I can.

My goals for writing are as follows. My short term goal is to to write a technical ebook for distribution on technical aspects of the industry I work in. I also intend to write a longer book with more interesting stories on the industry I work in from the length of time I have been in the industry.
It all takes time to do writing. Time is in short supply. Thus I feel I can only write these books little by little, which is what I imagine what a lot of people do. There are a few option's for publishing these books then which I will consider when the time comes.
Other than that I have no other goals apart from writing on line here for Postloop which I enjoy.

My goals for writing are to inform and share my knowledge to the majority. I enjoy writing opinionated ideas especially when it's all about politics, religion and other social issues. I would like to believe that I am a socialist who finds her comfort in writing which helps her to express herself. Joining forums like this and discuss things with people and also read their insights about a certain topic helps me to improve my writing skills. And having this said, I know that I am already fulfilling my goal.
