I own a website in the futures trading/ strategy niche that I'm looking to sell. Products are built for the popular NinjaTrader platform and price range for the products go from $20 all the way up to $6K. Launched it in June 2014, first sale was in August of 2014, since then it has generated a little over 22k in profit with only about $50 total for expenses (domain + hosting). Have done no paid advertising of any kind, all advertising was done with Youtube videos and Twitter. Also partnered with NinjaTrader Brokerage and their data feed provider, so I get traffic from there too.
The only work that needs to be done is answer emails every once in a while and update product performance stats every so often.

I valued the business at around 40-50k based on the profit I made, had some interested buyers but haven't sold it yet, kept getting low balled. My question is what should I be realistically asking for the business? Site is atsfutures.com

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you're not getting low balled. If anyone offers you $500 for the site then you should take it lol

The site is junk and I'm not not trying to be mean, just keepin it real.

Here's the highest I've seen it appraised:

I've seen it as low as being appraised at $100

40 visits a day and you think your site is worth more? C'mon man, I gotta good laugh though.

Also you obviously did some bad link placement to the site because your trust flow is non-existant.

Even my weakest site has better trust flow then your site.

All I've done with the second site is promoted it massively via social media and threw a few PBNs and WEB 2's at it. That's how I know your site is junk, BUT if I want to take it further i could analyze your link profile............and I did :)

You have 4 backlinks and they're all from posts in Ninja trader and 1 from a web directory. No wonder your trust score is crap. Sorry man but I could purchase an expired domain and start fresh with a new WP install and 5 pages of crappy content and would be in better shape then your site is. Just stating the facts.

I also must say that this thread almost could be considered a self promotion tactic. But I'm not sure so I'll leave it up to one of our other mods to make the call.

The most I can say positive about this site is, at least its a clean design and loads fast. Thats about it. Everything else is worth NADA!

Listen, if your site is making money like that, you shouldn't be trying to sell it yourself online. If you want to stay online as much as possible, then at least hire a professional website and domain firm to look at your site and figures, obtain a CPA's confirmation of income and they will find you a serious buyer. You can also try using an offline business broker, accountants, and other financial advisors who already have clients looking for investments and write offs, etc.
