Tips to drive traffic to a new website

Hi Guys,
I'm planning to write the blog and share articles on it. I would go with SEO and SMO methods which help in driving traffic to the website quickly. I'm researching in regard of the same and I would like to know your tips on how to drive traffic to my new blog.

For someone who joined in 2013, you should know how to use the search feature on the forum. Next time search around the forum before creating a new thread.

That question has been answered a gazillion times in the forum and some members have created valuable threads about that question. There's also WMS blog which has some tips related to traffic.
