Where and How to outsource a quality eBook

I want to have an ebook to make free gift or sell it for profits on my site

1) How would you recommend outsourcing a quality eBook?
2) Should I pay a fixed price or pay hourly for a writer or pay fixed amount for all ebook?
3) How much should I expect to pay for a 20 page original ebook?
4) Where should I look for a good writer?
5) How do you ensure the eBook the the writer creates is original and not stealing anyone's work?

I would look into odesk, freelancer with posting your offer etc... The quality will primarily depend on how much you are willing to pay as well as the ability of the writer... You can get a cheaper deal with non native speakers of the language in question but that likely means that the quality will not be as good... Either way ask them to provide samples for you to review before choosing a contractor...

Personally I would pay for the ebook as a one off agreed cost and not hourly as it is difficult to substantiate and costs could increase.... In addition I would use an escrow service to hold funds so that it best protects you and the contractor... Payment can/should be made at various milestones during the work commencing..

Once work has commenced ask them to provide a copy of the work at various stages e.g. 1/4 and 3/4... and perhaps use that as a milestone for partial payment... In addition get agreement that they will implement your revisions after reviewing... For costs I would place my lowest estimate at around $5 per page so that means around $100 plus... Either way ask them to provide a quote...

Finally use copyscape or other online tools for plagiarism checking before final payment and whilst you check draft copies at various stages...
