I have seen many bloggers, who share content regularly. Along with text content, they include images. But that's fine, I also add images in my content. However, some bloggers also embed videos in their article and there blog is working good with adsense. I have heard that Google does not like videos on a blog. Google bots cannot read videos, they can only read text. Also they cannot read images, but we can tell them by using alt tags. In this way we tell the bots, what the image is all about. But what about videos, I don't think that there is a way. By which we can tell Google bots about the videos. Hence, I want to ask should we add videos to our content or not? Are they necessary for a good quality content? I hope you will share your knowledge with me?

Videos are great to use with reducing bounce rates on your site as well as being engaging for users.. Its not necessary to use them. Given the choice I would use both.. A great informative article and video... With videos you should ideally use your own and not other peoples... Regardless I always try and make sure that my written content is the best that it can be with it being well written and informative - that being my main focus....

It can't be discussed in general, because, in some cases, videos are essential and in some not. like if you give working demo of a product which has more visual value and explanatory then yes.
On the other hand, if you are selling mobile phone then what content you can post for mobile? All you can do is post a testimonial video, which i don't think anyone would like to view. People see views on Google before making a decision!!!!

It means that videos does not have a bad effect on our blog. I will now add a video, along with my text content. I hope that my blog will catch the attention of search engine soon.

As you said, I am not selling any thing. I have just created a blog, in which I will share tips and tricks and various tutorials. Therefore in some tutorials, I have to share a video. In order to make my tutorial, more beneficial for the visitors.
