Hi,

I'm curious what are the best tips that you used to write really compelling emails to your list and get more clicks.
And I have a question. For your lists you will use your first/last name as the sender or come up with an alias for each?
My friends suggest me should use real name and some the same things. I am just wondering if it is just a matter of preference?

Thanks in advance

The mistake I see a lot of people make is that they confuse the person who's reading the email. If you want to sell then sell and if you want to offer value do that but don't mix the 2.

If you send someone an email saying this is how you do something and then ask them to subscribe to youtube, buy your product, follow you on twitter, like your facebook page etc all in one email then they won't click on anything. Every time I get emails like these I don't click on anything and I believe that's what my subscribers will do as well.

So if you want to offer value, do that and close the email by telling them to watch out for more emails, done, no selling. Then if you want to promote your product, do that on a separate email. Send more emails that offer value than emails that ask them to take action on something.

Each email should be on one specific thing, don't confuse your subscribers. I find that doing things this way increases not only the clicks but the open rate as well.

And yes, your friends are right, use your real name that makes the email much more personal than using a brand name.

Hope that helps.

As an email marketer, I would highly suggest getting some copy writing books. They've helped me a ton to get people on my side and getting better results from my email campaigns.

I would recommend books from Joe Sugarman, Dan Kennedy and Bill Glazer.

Also, if your list is becoming unresponsive, get as many people to do a quick survey.

I created a quick survey on surveymonkey asking them basic questions like if they're male/female, internet marketing experience etc...

I found that, everyone who does this survey, trusts you more because you have made some effort to learn more about the person and therefore resulted in more opens and higher click through rates.

Hope this helps!
