Hello webmasters,

I want to know any ways to building links and SEO for your inner pages?
It's different from building links to homepage or SEO for homepage?

Thanks

Hiya Pathfinder -

Indeed this is different to building links to your home page or any other as these are inbound links coming in from another site....

Internal links are links which are on your own site which point to pages/posts which are also on your own site....

Building internal links is hugely important as it helps G's crawlers to gain a deeper understanding of your website and how content relates to each other semantically.... Use category, sub categories to tag posts/pages as well as linking out directly to other posts/pages within your site which forms your silo approach... Just look at wikipedia - thats a great example of a site which incorporates a deep level of silo building....

Best of Luck!

You can building links to your inner page, just try to write content in a way that you can link other pages into that page. Content has a great role in interlinking the pages of a site.

You are misunderstanding my meaning, I mean building blacklinks from other websites to inner pages on my site?
You are saying about internal links for inner pages on a site, right?
Normally, I often build backlinks to my homepage instead for its categories.

Are there any differences between SEO for homepage and categories (inner pages)?

Yes indeed you should build links to your inner pages.. Especially the posts/pages which you are targeting certain keywords... Think about this... If all backlinks went to the home page - does that look natural??? G's algo will detect that you are gaming the system with a unnatural backlinking profile...

Also do you think all the keywords that you want to rank for will go to your home page??? Especially when the home page doesn't even talk about them.....

So for sure build links to sub pages and deeply nested pages in addition to my earlier comments regarding backlinking profile density of keywords/anchor text and velocity of creation...

Finally each page/post should be identified for keywords with making sure that they contain quality info on that specific topic....

Hope that helps!

We mainly target home page as well as inner pages of the website for website promotion, but mainly give priority to home page because if you have a PR of your site then inner pages will automatically start automatically if you have done on-page SEO properly.
