Organic backlinks that come from high value, high authority websites.

I would say go with resource page backlinks. Find websites and blogs that have resource pages or link to other websites. Some webmasters use page titles such as: Friends & Partners, Resource Page, Links etc.

Most webmasters use this page to link back to their friends, favorite websites and sites that link to them. So you can take advantage of this, simply go to Google and use one of these search strings:

"keyword" + inurl:links
"keyword" + "helpful resources"
site:.gov + "resources"
site:.edu + "keyword" links
"keyword resources"

Now, after finding those sites you can simply contact the website owner and ask for a link exchange. You'll find that some websites do allow link exchange and those will be easy to get. Make sure that you have good quality content before you even think about doing this.

Here's another trick you can use: As you're browsing these websites check if there's any broken links. If you find one then simply ask the website owner to replace it with your link, most of the time they'll say yes and Thank you.

Another ninja trick, that I've never shared with anyone and hasn't seen a lot of people talk about. Take the broken link and put it on any backlink checker tool. Find all the websites that link to the broken link, contact the webmaster and ask them to replace the link with yours.

There's a lot of ways you can use like interviewing a webmaster then ask them to link to the interview. Or using list posts like "Top 100 Blog Posts That Will..." After making the list post you contact the featured webmasters and let them know you linked to them and they might link back.

Once you start getting traffic to that list post, eventually people will visit those sites and webmasters will see (in their traffic stats) that you're bringing them traffic and most won't mind returning the favor.

I can go on all day but hope that helps :D

Yes, someone said right. You can use edu and .gov backlinks they are the most powerful backlink that help in boosting your rank.

A lot of people still fall for the old trick of thinking they have a great back link on a website which has all of the right authority metrics etc, but in fact the link is virtually worth nothing given that its on a deeply nested page which provides zero link juice... edu, gov sites are classic examples of that....

You also need to check the authority metrics of the actual web page (and not just domain root) and to also see how deeply nested that page is... for example is it accessible via the menu and how deep is it with sub categories... the deeper you go the less link juice will flow.... Saying that some sub nested pages can have some great metrics - but you know that when you check how many backlinks etc are point to it....

The best backlinks you can get is on related subject sites which has all of the right authority metrics - and is ideally on the home page ... That said you also need to be careful as to your anchor text as overusing commercial keywords on your link profile will for sure result in G's penguin slap....

elcidofaguy, don't generalize my friend. For instance, a lot of bloggers always link to their resource pages on blog posts and social media because that's where they also add their products and some affiliate links.

So not all resource pages are dead, don't generalize.

Guys, anything that passes link juice (just so you know, link juice is page rank, if you didn't know). Google doesn't want that, they want to see "Authority Signals" so it doesn't matter where your link is.

For instance, if you have a facebook fan page, twitter, google+ etc that gets a lot of activity, engagement and shares then the social network passes a lot of Authority Signals to your website which will help you to rank well and increase your Domain/Page Authority, Citation Flow as well as Trust Flow.

Google wants authority signals because if people keep sharing your site online it proves that you're an authority and people are finding your content useful then you'll rank high than someone who has a link on a homepage from a website that no one is talking about.

That's just my 2 cents, what works for me is resource page links and social media.

Erm I wasn't talking about resource pages lol.... I was talking about how some people think that just because a website has a high PR (noting PR is outdated now) that the backlink from them is going to help ... and as pointed out it depends where on that website that backlink is on, such as on the home page or a deeply nested page.... That's two different things.... and plus nothing to do with what you interpreted...

I also didnt talk about Social ... But okay lets talk that too...

With social signals - that's something else... These carry traffic to your website so for sure helps.... Is it a direct ranking factor?... My personal view is that it is not... Notice the word "direct" ... Indirectly some folks may create backlinks etc which does help on ranking improvements... G have even stated this publicly ... In addition I find it hard to get my head round why G would invest efforts to get into third party social platforms that they have difficulties with accessing.... that as well as social also being real easy to fake... such as facebook likes which do nothing for the SERPs...

That said I'm a fan of social as the traffic gained through ads, shares etc is awesome...

Yeah using these hidden google commands for search will help us find exact sources and sites base on our conditions. I agree with you about this, I used to use it to search information on google. :)

You are an intelligent person, always think creative ways to have backlinks like that. It's really a nice trick :D

What will happen if they doubt you are not website owner of those backlinks? :DD:

Yeah I got to agree that's some good commands to use on G with searching for backlinks... Another thing to add to your arsenal is to locate broken links as stated but with using a tool (and not manually) ... For that I use Xenu which is free and is super fast to run... Highly recommend using that - although there are of course other tools .... Once done you could outsource the task of finding the contact info and contacting web owners as that can become a bit tedious - for that I would use amazon mechanical turk.... another tool you can add to your arsenal would be scrapebox which can help with collating such info with compiling lists for such tasks....

elcidofaguy, I'm really sorry my friend haha... :D

Hope you forgive me :)

And social media doesn't only bring traffic. Like I mentioned above, social media site pass authority signals (Domain & Page Authority) which is a signal Google is NOW using instead of PR. I've heard marketers say Google can access these social networks, but we're not sure though.

But from my results and experience, I outrank websites with social media and a few resource page backlinks.

And you're right, checking broken links manually is hard. I use the "Check My Links" chrome extension/add-on.

What will happen if they doubt you are not website owner of those backlinks? :DD:
Don't tell them you're the website owner, tell them that you have a similar website. Hope you understand :)

No worries man...!!! None taken - for sure all is good in cyberland lol ;-)

That aside - I could spent a lot of time talking on PR - but will keep it simple...

PR has always been a smokescreen to other metrics which G will never release to the public.... However just because G doesn't update PR publicly that doesn't mean that it has been dropped albeit the concept which still stands with regards to authority, link juice etc wrt SERPs... For us folks outside of G's secret lab - we can use other metrics like MOZ DA, Majestic CF/TF .. etc... So for me its business as usual with nothing changing... As alluded I never really used PR as an indicator in isolation given many other factors....

Social - for me is a great way to gain traffic.... and I'm using it a lot... In fact my focus is moving away from the SERPs and onto other means outside of G.... That said I still have my doubts as to whether this is a direct ranking factor and currently view it as an indirect one as outlined for the reasons mentioned earlier... Either way it doesnt really matter as getting traffic to your website is the most important thing.... and with that making some money :))

Backlinks are incoming links to a website or web page from another website. Backlinks are often a heavy indicator of the popularity of that page, and are one of the most important factors in determining where that page will rank on the search engine.

Thus Backlinks come frome high PR websites always bring you more worth to get higher rankings on Google search. Besides, Gov. and Edu. backlinks also are strongest backlinks as I knew.
